How many of us gasped in disbelief when the headlines screamed 12,000 cases of Dengue plus over 20,000 cases of Chikungunya reported by mid-2016 alone?

It was enough to trigger the panic button, where everyone scrambled to control the vector-borne disease. Outdoors birthday parties got cancelled and camping trips were a big no-no for kids all over, including for my son and his friends. To make matters worse, my son came down with a flu like illness last month that left him with fever and a break-bone body ache. Frantic RDT tests plus the PCR test turned out to be negative, but the mosquito scare is a big one.

My neighborhood Supermarket guy recently told me about the new Good Knight Fabric Roll-On, which is an ultra-convenient Fabric Roll-on. It’s natural and plant based at a very affordable price. I am truly grateful that a product has come out which lets you literally 'Put it and forget it'. As a mother, I, have always wanted something with minimal chemicals. It helps that Good knight is a trusted brand name and the Fabric Roll-on is 100% natural. Plus, it gives an awesome 8-hour protection from mosquitoes outdoor. I simply dab 4 dots on my son's school uniform when he leaves for school. It goes on his clothes, not on his skin. I know he's safe both in the class as well as on the school playground.

I just put the 4-dots on his T-shirt and shorts or sometimes even at the open end of the socks when he leaves for basketball practice or engages in any outdoor activity. I repeat this when he leaves for tuition also. Just 4 dots of Good knight Fabric Roll-On for greater peace of mind. It is available in all leading super markets and you can buy it online here.

Dengue mosquito breeds in clean water, which is available in plenty within your home. I have taught my son to cover stored water as well as drain out old water from flower pot trays, coolers and fridge trays. Trash cans need to be covered. Removing stagnant water keeps the mosquito menace at bay.

Chikungunya on its own is not life threatening, but can lead to other complications once immunity is compromised. Dengue can also be mild or asymptomatic but can also lead to fatal hemorrhagic fever. Spiraling cases of both these diseases have sent alarm bells ringing.

My Good knight Liquid Vaporizer is really a genie in a bottle that I use for my family at home, during the day as well. I plug it in and leave it on knowing it will chase Malaria, Dengue and Chikungunya away.

Indian microbiologists have clearly stated that the mosquito virus has 'no fixed season’. The current dip in Delhi temperature may dip the cases, but the virus is endemic and circulates round the year.

Hence I use mosquito repellent in the day time and also made it a habit to use Good knight Fabric Roll-On every time we step out of home, even in the daytime… kyunki dengue ke macchar aate hai subah and hence you know it #SubahBoloGoodknight

When prevention is better than any cure, why give Dengue a biting chance?

Fantastic. I love it when Indians make usable products.

I do notice however, that it is no longer available on Amazon.

Another simple remedy someone told me recently was to apply moisturizing lotion with a strong fragrance - and it works. 2 in one. Moisturizing as well as moisture repellent.

Thanks for the tip. I though moisturisers with strong fragrances actually attract mosquitoes. But maybe I am wrong.

Hi SCSusila, I could only think of GoodKnight since it is the only rollon (we have here in India) which is plant based and natural. I use it myself when I go walking or outdoors in long grass.
I am in Delhi and my son will not let me rub oil on him. So a mosquito roll on is practical and fast.

Nothing like trying it out yourself.
