Average Jayanti means? :) Joe's Indian cousin? :)

Laks, I read your post yesterday and today jogged 5 more minutes and at a slightly higher speed than usual. "Inspiring" doesn't begin to describe what your post was. Due to vanity and natural human pride, I will keep to myself what is the usual speed and time duration. : ) I can say this -- it no way comes close to your driving or your running around in circles of .1 mile for 7.5 miles. #Respect.

I have no clue why the # in front of Respect, it is something kaniths done, and it looks cool. : )

@Laks09 Trust me your little guy knows what a superhero his mom is. Though I cannot fathom what you are undergoing, I've seen my parents where you are. I don't know how they kept going the way they did but their doggedness gave me opportunities without which I wouldn't have made it. Not a second of your penance will go unrewarded. Not everyone has it in them to single-mindedly devote themselves to their child. You are playing parenting on hard-mode! Be proud!

I saw your 780 cals burn. Way to go! This is just stress-weight. It will melt away now that you are back on track, quite literally! : ) Good luck for upcoming the 15K! I'll catch you on MFP.

LOL.. no.. as soon as he is settled down in his new home in Kalorama, will change it pro'lly. : ) I saw this cartoon that had such a back profile of him walking away in the distance, and the Statue of Liberty calling out, "Don't go, I need a babysitter" : ) so got the idea.......

    Thanks. Prayers are always welcome!

That's nice to know! Thanks a lot. Love the "Average Jayanthi" part!!!

Partners are always nice to have. One of my biggest deterrent has been the friend who runs with me has been injured out and now is only doing short stints in the gym.

Hey thanks. Love the #Respect. I'm glad I motivated an extra 5 mins jog. Was it outdoors? I'm still indoor, I have to get out this week!

I will. More than fitness, I need a proper eating routine. That's what is prime on my to do list. I used to do very well until last spring. Hoping I can get some meal prep motivation.

Thanks for saying this. I have no idea how I do it. I've not done it all and have dropped a lot of things even for the children but I'm somehow pushing through. Having the pep talk helps. I didn't think of all this from his end. When we are so consumed with all sorts of guilt it's nice to know they will notice.

Yeah that 7.5 miler gave me a ton of confidence. Now there isn't any looking back. I wish I had done this for the same race last year. The only reason I didn't train for that was because my friend wasn't going for it. She still isn't but I guess I have to find company in myself :)

But but but.. my dear Anika, what follows in the post is absolutely not what I had in mind. : ) : )

My best friends were made in the USA, and the friends I made in India turned into better friends after we've all lived in the USA. But then, I've spent practically 90% (or more!) of my adult life in the U.S.

I do get the comparison you have made, and I understand your angst. I happen to like the U.S. way of things, and the Indian way of life/friendships /activity levels make me ache to be 'far from the madding crowd.'

    Timepass Friday kochen:

What is the longest conversation you had on phone; how long was it? With whom, about what.. if you can share. A 1-1 call with you participating actively, not like a work conference call you mute now and then.

I recently spoke with a friend for 62 minutes, and that was a record for recent times. She had fixed up a time to ask a bunch of questions. And then, we got chatting about inane things. In between, paused to tell DH's what to get for takeout dinner. : )

3 hours 20 something minutes, with our very own dear @Cimorene . Shortest call with her was approx 40 minutes. Average duration of our calls is around 2 hours. My husband rolls his eyes but knows not to poke me when my UK-wali friend calls. : )

: ) I was initially going to post the query in "Gab Fest" because of the aptness of the thread title. : )
