Sending Money Home

    Hi,

    I am just curious as to how easy is it for all married couples to send money back to your parents in India?

    Initially I was able to send more ($300-$400) and now after getting married + other commitments (mortgage,car-payment)I am able to send $100-$120 / month. There sometimes tends to be a comparison between me and my sibling who sends more. The difference is we are on 1 salary in the US, where as my sibling in another country has a business in India + 1 person working. Does anyone face this dilemma?

    Dear OP,
    It depends on each person and the monthly expenses and how much you earn.
    There are always comparisons between kids, most of the elderly parents do that. dont worry abt all that, you do what you can for your parents.
    If they compare and praise your sibling, say i can do this much only and will try for more when i can.
    also that you are glad that your sibling is able to give more.
    dont worry too much.
    yes with one salary you probably are doing a good thing. when you convert that amount to indian rupees it is good amount of money.
