    My dh company has layoffs few people..
    Worried since got a word his name might also be there because it's lifo policy here..

    He started new job search though..


    Wondering if any of you or your spouse companies or know people companies started layoffs..

    What Trump policies? Maybe it is just the cycle of layoffs depending on market and economy. Though he is the worst thing to happen, I didn't hear any policies resulting in layoffs. Can you please add more details?

    is your hubby on h1. hope he would not be in the layoffs list. been hearing some layoffs happening but not sure of the impact.

    Trump has promised to curtail federal government employment, curtail H1B visas and crack down on illegal immigration. These things will take time to accomplish and he has to be sworn in first.
    He would not have any influence on what a private employer chooses to do today.

    Op, You need to elaborate on your post to give a correct picture. It will be helpful for suggestions or for people in similar situation.Either way in layoff situation, its better to start looking for jobs and use contacts asap.Good Luck.

    Hi all

    Hope you guys have heard about buisness expansion are on hold, and India IT companies share fell.

    Companies are trying to have less head count of foreign employees. (Is what my dh employer said)

    Also because of Trump's discussion about immigrations , h1 and min 100k$ wages and other things companies are getting scared or wondering what policy he might bring and trying to get rid of contracts and trying to hire American..

    PS: Above is the based on discussion happened in my dh office his colleague and his vendor's and new vendors(while applying job)

    Yes dear dh on h1.

    Nope it's sure news just that he didn't get official confirmation yet.. Because few people were laid off last week.. And news is there will be more layoffs...

    He's contractor for a vendor not through Indian company..

    I heard recently about the $100k wages ...this will impact consultants brought in .
    Ask him to keep applying to other companies. Dont wait till the lay offs are announced.

    If 100k$ wages come to effect I heard lots of India companies would think twice because most of them are paid min wage of 60 to 80k$ .. So won't his policies or for now speculations of what policy he might bring in (thanks to his speechs) affect h1 jobs
