Has anyone encountered this? I'm terrified but not showing any of it to my daughter who witnessed this. She's always find her closet creepy at night but never really explained it.

Today, when we were chatting in my bedroom, she said a lady shadow figure with dress that has holes in them, no face but yellow eyes was going near her last night but it disappeared when i came in. I asked why she did not scream but she only shrugged. I asked her if it happened before but she said no because she always close her closet, when its closed she only hears some banging sounds.

I don't really know what to do. Can't even get myself check her bedroom yet.

very scary, what is your daughter's age?

i read that 2 -4 (around that age) their imagination power would be so high that they see monsters, like it is there exactly. It is their brain developing so fast.

Sharing a link what I read: Nightmares: Why they happen and what to do about them (ages 2 to 4) | BabyCenter

Another link: Ask Dr. Sears: Mashing Monster Fears

    Some content from those links:
    Why nightmares happen
Most kids have nightmares once in a while, but 2- to 4-year-olds are particularly prone –this is an age when normal fears develop, imagination blossoms, and the ability to describe a bad dream kicks into high gear.

Your child's nightmares may stem from listening to a story that's scary (even if it doesn't seem scary to you), watching an upsetting program or movie, getting excited or worked up before bed, or feeling anxious or stressed during the day.

Make nighttime a less scary environment.
If he's really fearful, perhaps it's too much to expect him to handle sleeping alone in a dark, scary room during this phase. Ask him if he'd like to sleep in a "special bed" (his mattress at the foot of your bed) for a week. If he gets excited about the idea, take it as a clue that he needs an injection of nighttime parenting. But be sure to set rules. Tell him, "If you wake up, you have to stay in your special bed and not wake up Mommy and Daddy because we need our sleep at night, too. Otherwise, we'll be a cranky Mommy and Daddy the next day, and that's no fun."

She's 8 @KashmirFlower. She sleeps on her own for the past four years and would even get up in the middle of the night to go to the washroom (my ds1 wouldn't at 4-6 age).

Thanks for the links, I'll be reading more of them tonight since I never really looked into this topic when my kids were around those age. I just hope i will not hear this again, it really scared me more than her.

Let her sleep with you , and if your DH can sleep in that room for few nights may give confidence to her.
Usually Is she scared of dark ? Does she watches scary stuff in tv? May be she developed fears from these.

No, she's not scared of the dark. She actually prefers her room to be pitch black otherwise can't sleep. She doesn't watch scary stuff too, she likes shows like Totally Awkward, Littlest Petshop, My Little Pony, some girly Japanese anime.

She only wants to sleep in her bed so tonight I will be in her room. I don't think she's too scared about it though. I'm just worried it is a sign of evil eye or something and i can do something about it.

    Hi @momsky
    It's very very scary...
In my maternal family...parents chant/sing Hanuman Chalisa at night before putting their kids to sleep.
You can also play Hanuman Chalisa for her on computer etc...
Please try it for a few days.
    And please provide updates.
