We are a more traditional couple.
He earns and I keep the home sane.
I do most of the cooking. My daughters help.
But when required...he does what needs to be done.

I had burnt my hand slightly....girls were not home and I needed some one to knead the dough.
He kneaded the softest dough I have ever touched:fearscream::fearscream:. It was so good...I wanted it to last forever.(the dough:rolleyes:)

I have told him , he is going to be my dough maker after he retires . He has accepted the job :beer-toast1:....as long as I make the rotis .

Previously mothers discouraged sons from entering kitchen .It was threatened that the house would be surrounded by dharidra lakshmi if a boy touches the broom. This was taken advantage of by male members. As long as my mother-in-law was alive, this was the position. After retirement my husband helps me a lot,he participates equally or even more in many of the domestic duties.Men have got their own perception reg kitchen duties and they do their own way which many women may not like. They don't do certain things simultaneously, use too many vessels, add much of aroma to enhance the taste.Mostly children like the preparations done by fathers as they are very generous in adding tasty ingredients .If women do not interfere, men will be prepared to do their might.I hear women murmur that it is more a nuisance when men enter the kitchen.

Pointlkess question. Because lot of men are damn good cooks including yours truly . They don't see cooking as a chore but as an enjoyable experience.

    oh...mine does...but I don't encourage it!

he sits in one place and needs me to hand over all the veggies to him, give him the knife and chopping board, wash veggies in between, give him the place for keeping the cut veggies, take off the peals once he is done with cutting and clean the place....

the same goes with cooking....he stands near the stove and uses around 5-6 vessels just to cook one curry! and I have to keep standing beside him to hand over all the spices and other things he might need.

I threatened him that I will cut his tongue next time he volunteers to help me out in anything!

Same is the case with my H. It may be because they dont it often. dont remember spice locations.

when I was learning it was the same me, I used to use hell lot of vessels.

It would be good if we bring in the rule like, morning wife would be cooking. evening husband do the cooking.

Because of the mess they create. Also they only do cooking , dont bother about the cleaning part.
