Okay, I will tell you about Dubai. There are quite a few decent schools. Indian as well as other curriculum schools. Admissions are quite tough. You need to get through interviews etc. Some schools have lottery system though. Fees can range from 18k aed p.a to 55k aed p.a(the most expensive schools). Teaching standards are strictly average. Facilities are good in most schools. Arabic is a compulsory subject until 10th grade. What I have seen with the families here (strictly my observation), the parents have enough time to spend with the kids after schools and in the evenings coz most return from work early. So loads of extra curricular activities where the parents also involve themselves and lot of family time. This in general helps in the development of children.

All the schools are rated by KHDA. you can find school ratings on the KHDA website. And visit whichschooladvisor.com for reviews and latest happenings at schools.

    Hope I shed some light.

I would suggest you go to Dubai.am sure the schools there are good or there is some international school.

Why because, you and kiddo will BE with your hubby.him living seperate you and You seperate...don't know how it is

I know a friend who was in the same situation as you and she put her kid in chennai.husband works in sharjah.its been 8 years he visits once in two months and she claims she has not spent time with the dh,lost many years and regrets it.

My husband lost his job few months back and he got many consultant jobs which requires him away 4 days a week.i out my foot down, told him even if you are getting a very low pay job am ok..but not away from you even 4 days a week.but that's me and that's what I want.

Don't know ur situation but just wanted all you guys to stay together

@anika987 made very good point. At young age of kid, family togetherness and both parents spending time with kid is foundation. And kid having exposure to multi cultural environment helps a lot too.

True words!! I started missing DH already..but thinking about son education and overall development.. some people are saying like studies in Dubai are not so good like in Bangalore.. as me and DH are from middle class family, we want our son to get good education and exposure to extra curricular activities..we both believe that good school and education with extra curricular activities is the only good investment that we can give for our son.. that's why all these thoughts are going on in mind!!

@cutebarbie, honestly the kid is just 2 and half. At that age, decent education and development is more than enough. You could shift now and return to Bangalore for higher classes. loads of people do that. At this age, dad being around is more important than best education. JMO.

Another thing you can do is, come down on a 3 month visit visa or 1 month visit visa, look around and visit the schools. You will get a better idea. Do all your groundwork like contacting schools etc before coming, so you save time. You will also get an idea as to the lifestyle and living standards here. depending on that you can decide.

Same thing is going on in my mind also.. will surely try to do like that..btw ok Bangalore we already selected bishop cotton boys school for son, and there they would not accept kids for middle classes that easily.. that means getting back to Bangalore for higher classes will be difficult if we think of joining son in bishopcotton.. this is also one of the main reasons for hesitating early schooling in dubai

I understand your situation but let me assure you bishop cotton is not the only school which is good. Things change.a child needs a family together esp the dad.you also should also be with your husband. If I were you I will join my husband and try to put my kids in the best school with the available options.else ask hubby to come back to Bangalore very soon and try to find a job there.you have a good family and please don't live seperately.nothing is more valuable in this world that a family together. If your financial situation isn't dire then go to Dubai. As one IL said,go to Dubai for a month or two and check out the options. Also did you research in Dubai as good as you did in Bangalore?
