Recently I've seen Sairat, Marathi movie. It was out standing in all aspects, the cast, direction, the music. If you have not yet seen this movie do watch!
I too watched the movie last week. The actors have done a good job, doing justice to the role. Though not an extraordinary/different story, still made an impact in the end.
Where can I watch ? Search in YouTube? Subtitles are there? I saw that in kapil sharma show it is good movie, the girl is very good , I felt courageous girl .
You can search in the google you'll get it. I've attached the link : Sairat Marathi Movie Online HD DVD
Difficult to really enjoy the film without subtitles. Very well made film. The female lead (Rinku Rajguru) - both characterization & delivery were brilliant. After I watched that a lot of bollywood movies felt mindless in comparison. So many authentic, earthy Indian stories are possible and more relatable than hollywood knock offs. Oh and i also liked how the female lead wasnt the size zero variety & didnt comform to the ultra feminine, cloying, coy heroine stereotype. But didnt lose her feminity either when she rode the bullet to college. Here is one link i found...
Thank you for the link, watched the movie. Songs are something special. Great movie. Looking at beggar couple while travelling in train, she goes back to him.
To be honest i felt that particular scene wasnt convincing to me. Agreed that she changes her mind when she sees a poor couple sticking together but it doesnt clearly drive home a point to the viewer. A couple of old beggars who are together because they actually need each other to survive (not necessarily love) isnt exactly role model material. So i felt it was a poor choice of scene to show as being so impactful as to change a young girl's mind whose life had more promise than the beggars.
Hi KashmirFlower Glad that you've seen the film. That was a simple and neat movie. I loved it. I like the 4 songs and I listen often. Rani
True . I too didn't expect she will go back after he slaps her and he says disgusting to see your face etc I too surprised when she opens the room door, was thinking why? And before the scene was the beggar couple scene.
Nice movie. einthusan.com has subtitles. I found the story to have many twists, but not the gut-wrenching kind. A few of my guesses came wrong, especially their life as a couple. I thought the little one would get kidnapped. But, one thing I couldn't understand -- there seemed to be a kind of gap or disconnect between the dialog and look/expression on the actors' faces, in particular on Archi's face. In the scene by the swimming place, she has odd expressions on her face when talking with her friend (while ordering the guys to vacate it so the girls can swim). Towards the end, when she asks Parshya to go give the tea/coffee to the guests, she again had an odd expression. After watching, I was wondering what about this simple love story captivated so many people. Then, it struck me, I watched it till the end, and with interest. That was what set it apart. I also liked that the heroine was not ultra slim or model level shapely. She really looked like a khaatey-peetey-ghar se. From a household that has enough to eat and drink. : ) And yes, nice to see her ride the motorcycle without wearing leather jacket etc.
