I dint see a problem in doing that.

I use freezer to keep idli, dosa batter and also chaoati atta in aluminum foil.

I have stored fully cooked food too like paneer, eggplant , sambhar etc.

It stayed well.you may want to try some and see if you like the texture .

I use freezer mostly to keep cut veggies and also grind masalas in a large quantity and freeze them ice cube tray. This makes it very easy to cook meals.

Try and see what works for you. Start small .

Me too keep batters and cooked meals frozen. They are life savers on a tiring days. Also, i make chaat chutneys (green chutney and dates+imli chutney) in bulk and store.
I make various gravies like onion+ tomato gravey, green gravy, etc and freeze them.
I also store cut veggies, steamed dumplings for kothimbeer/coriander vadi, palak vadi, colocasia leaves vadi, etc.

I am not someone who enjoys frozen meals and freezing stuff. I prefer fresh and hot meals. I don't even have an oven at home. I prepare small quantities thrice a day and find it easier that way.

The cooked food in refrigerator also fine till 4-5 days, with more/max cool settings. It avoids thawing . If for more days u can freeze.

It is not recommended based on diet and nutrition books. The food we eat has already lost majority of its nutrients from the time it makes it from farm > store > home. Eat fresh at least every other day. Don't keep vegetables in fridge for long time. Don't cut and keep vegetables in fridge either (more nutrients are lost).

Eat simpler fresh meals daily or every other day as opposed to eating not-healthy frozen complex meals (frozen, readymade, canned).

i avoid using frozen items on regular basis, but once in a while its fine. I dont use leftovers if they are kept in the fridge for over 2 days. I avoid cutting vegetable in advance, cut them fresh. If i have to do lot of things in early mornings only then i cut the vegetables night before. Reason is as @aamrapali stated, food looses its nutrition.
My father was very health conscious, he didnt use to eat same food in the dinner which was cooked in the morning. So i also got that touch of little freakishness in me, which got little balanced after marriage as stale word is not in my MIL dictionary.

    Thanks for everyone's time..

In India it was just me and dh
Both were software engineers and working

Breakfast mostly cereals or oats kanji

I used prepare lunch box every morning fresh and night I used to reach home at 9.30pm and dh at 10.45pm. I used to freshen up and browse around 30mins then prepare dinner in 45mins mostly chapati sabji or upma, avallaki dosa ....

Mom's place mom used to prepare everything fresh everyday, but sometimes it's more used to keep fridge n eat Tom or sometime sun night non veg leftover for Tue.

But my mil prepare noon and dinner freshly(both meals or every meals in her house is just rice sambar or kootu and veg curry no chapati upma or any other items literally everyday rice/sambar idli or dosa)
But point is freshly made twice day..

That's y this guilt as am used to freshly cooked meals everywhere.. I am on h4 not working but have 1.3yrs son who never let me cook wash vessels or do anything basically just wants me to play with him all time....

So dh asked me to cook evening for night and next day lunch box.. He doesn't care or expect it to be fresh as long as it's home food... So I kinda cook for 1 or 2 days and just do rice or chapati freshly..

Am not talking about weeks together but for 1 or 2days..

    Hi,
You can cook gravy/kurma/sambas in night and have with dosa, chappathi or any tiffin. Next day you can just cook rice or chappathi n give it as lunch to ur husband. If u want veggie subji, you can chop it in afternoon when u kid sleep. Next day ,Mrg u can just fry it.

You should maintain meal preferences as par your convenience and what works for you. As long as your family is satisfied and healthy, you need not to feel any guilt.
