Rice and moong dal porridge is good, you can start with 1 teaspoon and see for 1 or 2 days, how baby is digesting,

After 15 days or a month introduce may be 1/4 of small idli,

1 small piece of Boiled veggies like carrot , bottle gourd etc can be given . You will know soon how much quantity baby can take .

Home made fresh food is good for baby compared to sugar mixed cerelac etc

When Doctor said baby needs solids , ) why to wait till 9 month? At that small age nutrition is important, say Doctor knows better and start introducing healthy food in small quantities, by the time they really eat good quantities baby would be 9 months old.

I think stool thrice is normal and watery is also OK, at that age. I think just apple in the afternoon is not enough, give something filling like porridge.

dry roast rice, moong dal, grind it as ravva.

Boil water, add rava, boil for 10-15 min, add salt and ghee.
you can add boiled veggies to this once baby used to this food. My son ate this till 1st year. kids like it, easy to digest, and good protein.
between 1-2 , he ate mixed grains porridge at night, normal lunch in the afternoon.

My DS also start solids on 6th month. He was completely on formula and BM until 6th month.
You can start your kid on mashed veggie- carrot, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, beetroot, spinach, radish. Boil them and mash it. No salt or sugar needed.
Mash it well or make a puree.
I also gave toor dal, moong dal with little bit jaggery.

wow! really good idea. I will try this.

    Hi Op,
Many good suggestion was there from the above post. One suggestion that I would give is whatever you feed the baby make it tasty.taste them before you feed LO.This is the stage when the little once should start loving their food. Some babies might not like certain taste avoid them for sometime or bring a variation to it.Give them enjoyable meal so that food doesn't become difficult part in later stage. Add little salt and sugar to food, there is nothing wrong in it.Don't force them with any food. I was making ragi kanchi by soaking ragi for 4 hours and grind it .strain the milk and cook.add little jaggery, pinch of salt and just a pinch of ghee initially.Though its not completely nutritious as we the straining the fiber from it,its better to start with as its easy for digestion.after 2 months you can start giving without straining the milk.

You can add kalkandu also.. fruits are acidic compared to starched food like rice and potato.. Try to give smashed rice with dal water and ghee.

Raagi kanchi with kalkandu+salt , start by 1 or 2 spoons a day . later increase the quantity. If the digestion is not the problem you can start giving 3 times day.

I did not give fruits till my DD was 9 months old , fruits were not suitable for her when tried at 6 months around.

Vegetables only after 1 year. Nutrients part need not worry if she taking formula or DM, she will get most from them.

There is no one method for all kids not necessarily all kids should eats fruits ,vegetables. There should not experimentation on kids. Stick to 1 or 2 fruits or vegetables and variety of other dishes in raagi, rice , idly dosa...
