    Hi OP!
I have not read your previous posts in detail but you sound really depressed :( . I checked your profile and you seem to live in Germany. Why don't you have Indian friends over there? Did you try the Expat facebook group for Indians? Where in Germany are you from? May be I can help.

Dear OP, living in the country you are in - unless you have an understanding spouse its close to impossible and emotionally draining to live. The visa would not even allow you to work most likely. My first hand experience there is to enroll into higher education masters - having seen many Indian who go there after marriage having spineless husband- studies is the only solution. Studies does not cost you a lot there, you have to pay only approx 500 euros per semester. Look for any course that teaches in English. how will it help ?? well you get to get out of the four walls and meet people. YOu might find yourself like an alien for sometime, definitely you will make friends soon. Dont get into just Language classes in the near by Goeth or any institute - that will just let u learn the language - you need to enroll into University for any masters.

This will give you self confidence, down the line you might be able to find a job. Dont have kids until you finish your masters. Husband might not be willing to send you - but find your way to convince him and study. the fees is just negligible when one is earning. but as house wife that looks like big amount. Try Try thats the only good way out i could see. All the best.

I saw some of your posts - its utter frustration that you are venting here... down the line in 2 yrs you will still be writing the same dear if you dont try to change your situtation. So do something about it and shape up your life in a good way.

    Wish you the best.

    Hi!

As a spouse of highly skilled migrant you automatically have the work permit in Germany.
Also, are you sure 500 euros for higher studies:thinking:? Well in the Netherlands you need to shell out thousands of euros if you are aiming to study in the university without any scholarship!

Tulip, Germany education was free in the past and only from last 5 yrs they have started this Approx Euro 500 thing as many foreign students were taking advantage of it being free and not completing their degree and keeping few subjects pending to enjoy the student benefits.

About work permit i dont think spouse gets work permit automatically. not long ago even to retain the dependent visa and to review dependent spouse had to learn German language and get some level of certification. Not sure if the law has changed now.

Dear DrKadambari: That's not really correct. This is what I found out : Master’s degrees at German universities are usually free if they are classed as “consecutive” – i.e. following directly on from a related bachelor’s degree gained in Germany. Again, there is a small charge per semester for enrolment, confirmation and administration, plus a Semester ticket. However, a “non-consecutive” master’s degree, for those who have gained their bachelor’s degree elsewhere in the world, can cost more than €10,000 (US$11,450) per semester, and private German universities can charge up to €30,000 (US$34,300) per year for a master’s degree.
So -- Its reduced fee only if you have done your undergraduate degree course from Germany.

And yes, the work permit is automatic if you are coming as a dependent of an expat.

About the fees that i mentioned i am sure irrespective of the bachelors degree being from India. This is the first hand information I have.

just about 5 years go (hopefully its changed as you said) - Work permit - Spouse of alien can get a work permit provided the company who has offered her a job proves they could not get a german citizen who could qualify for the job they selected her. So its a catch22 situation to get a job and work permit - unless one is technically sound and does not require much of german language to do the job getting a job isnt easy. Language is a big barrier. those who get past this are great.

    Well

Well i live in the Netherlands and know people living in Germany, so quite sure about these things. I too came here with my husband and working here on the work permit which i automatically got because of my spouse (and we dont speak Dutch).

Rest I would wait for the poster's reply on these things as she has been there for quite a while now and knows may be much more than me.
