very well said @Akanksha1982 . We receive the true answers to our questions when we are really ready to receive them. Until then, it is just a discovery phase.

    :p

I was wondering what theory of ethical epistemology the atheists on this forum subscribe to. Metaethics is a vast subject, one that I struggled with the most when I lost faith. A lot more than creation and the (lack of) meaning of life.

Also, pondering over this response, was any atheist made to feel defensive or excluded due to their belief? In-laws don't count :) I know US atheists often talk about this, but I don't think I have experienced this. Was I just lucky or maybe dense?
What do atheists think about theists?
For me, faith or its lack is personal, so I don't really think about it. Same for everyone?

Nope. Never felt excluded either. At most my friends and family think I'm nutters. :D They indulge me fondly, like the good folks on this thread.

I don't question belief. I take it as a part of someone's personal sphere. Not for me to question why.

Metaethics -- I'll save this for the atheist round table. New thread idea!

My close friends think I'm a stowaway who escaped from a loony halfway house and washed up the shores. Other friends think I'm missing a piece in my brain. Due to such vulnerable state of mine wherein I'm either persecuted in my home land or I'm impaired with a damaged cognitive faculty, they are extremely protective of me (no further damaged allowed to the already defective). But I am very wary of bringing up "religion" and "god" in a heterogeneous and merely acquainted crowd because ensuing prejudices sprung from these fiery debates cut too deep. "Oh ...she thinks I'm a fool for believing in God" whereas I'm always stumped "When did I say that". Last time I swore off that next time if I indulge in such divisive talks I shall record the conversation for training and security purposes and if needed leak it like Kimmy.

You want me to answer it here. Are you serious? You are determined to have my hair plucked out in a comeuppance.

A worm in an eye is a miracle for you. OK.

What is your perspective about a 6 year old boy or girl raped/sodomized by an adult? Miracle, wow, amazed, or something else?
