    Dear Sri Ojaantrik:

Hmmm.... waiting game! Waiting for 10 months to come out and see the world, after seeing it, cry and cry and wait for the mother to feed us, wait in the line to get admitted in the school, wait to finish higher education to get a job, after getting a job wait for getting promoted, after gaining a reasonable position, wait to find the suitable life partner, after finding a suitable life partner, wait to get children, after having a family, wait to build a home, after the children grow, wait to educate them, after they educate, wait to find a suitable partner for them, after they marry, wait to get grandchildren and so forth and so on. Life is a waiting game.

But one thing we wait from the day of birth and until we leave this planet is death. It could be days, weeks, months, years, decades and sometimes a century.

We forget that we have no control over any of them and the results are not in our hands and our duty is to just make the effort.

Waiting gives you hope...and hope is a good thing. You know the aim/mission/vision...
off course it keeps on changing as we the social animal gets easily bored on achieving what we waited for.
so we set next target...!and wait for it.

    Dear Sri,

I have to admit that Waiting for Godot did cross my mind as I was struggling to write this thread. Struggling? Well yes, that happens to be the case. I did struggle a lot and you are partly responsible for it. You had raised a deep question when I wrote Girls. You thought it should have been a part of my "she" series. The more I thought about that remark, the more convinced I felt that there was much wisdom in your observation. Since then, I had to be careful about my brevity posts. This one in particular.

Well, Godot did speak to me as I wrote this one. But I have to admit at the same time that neither Notre Dame nor RK had intruded my thought process. Now that you mention them, I think I should have thought about them as well, especially RK, who, as you know, is my all time Guru. Though I am a bit of an Ekalavya here. I am sure RK would have preferred you over me. You could be his Arjun.

Be that as it may, do we really keep on waiting through the day for the night to arrive? I mean consciously? Subconsciously? Perhaps you are right. But you had no observation on the "group" in my thread that had been waiting and waiting and waiting, till they forgot or vaguely remembered that they had waited.

Dear Friend, haven't you experienced this feeling at all? When you waited and waited and waited and then slowly forgot that you had waited? Or, vaguely remembered at best that you did wait? I am sure you know what I am talking about. You keep waiting of course, but the object of waiting changes with the progress of time, new tears replace the dried up flow of old tears. Good Friend!! I can't believe that you don't know about it. If you don't know, then no one else on earth knows.

You know that's what Samuel Beckett says in Godot:
"The tears of the world are a constant quantity. For each one who begins to weep somewhere else another stops. The same is true of the laugh.”
This statement has always been engaging my thoughts. I find it not only acceptable but very profound too.

Thank you Sri. Thank you. I knew that you knew that I knew that you knew that I knew that you knew ... ad nauseum. Game theorists have found a most uninteresting name for this. They call it Common knowledge. Stupid.

Incidentally, my son and daughter in law arrived today. I showed my son your one sentence fb about the girl who wouldn't permit full stops. He liked it. I have spoken so much about you to them that they know know you as though they do know you.
