I am never sure about that, Shanvy. I distinctly recall heaving the big sigh of relief when we disposed off the last of the diapers, diaper bags, portable potty seat and declared day time, night time, all times potty-training done.
    Nice to see your post.

    Those are valuable strengths!

It is a decidedly delightful juxtaposition to be able to agree and yet disagree with a statement. :)

this thread has come like life saver for me...actually i was thinking of doing suicide (non fictional) as i was loosing all corners in parenting. i sometimes get so confuse how and whom to deal with first elder one or younger one. now i realise why my mom was busy and we thought she is busy with no work...lol
back to topic - actually my strength i can say is i m very good planner and can just think and make plans. that is other story it gets flop as my weakness is lack of proper implementation. sources for making my plan flop are my children. i would be so grateful to all you lovely ladies if you can please train me how to do implementations.
sometime i feel giving counseling to my DD but then again gets confuse that she requires taht more or me?? my biggest weakness is impatience. i loose my temper on very small things. and law of nature is what you give you get back same...it applies and realised very much with me. i shout and scold her which i gets in return...:smilingimp:

Well, I thought this was happening mostly in my house, ah (sigh-of-relief) glad I'm not alone.

BTW, how come this worry about kids and parenting styles always gets kicked of in the mind of moms? While the dads look super confident (as parents)!

Dad's are like horses, they don't get to see everything around them.Their vision is limited.for mom's ,the vision is unlimited and they tend to see all.

Nice topic! Parenting! Wow! I love parenting, but, there are so many sides to parenting, that there is no correct or right/wrong way. No parent wants to do the wrong thing by their kids on purpose.
I am an over achiever. I have always wanted to get 100% or do 100%. Very tiring. When I became a mother, I decided that I did not want that pressure on my daughter. So, we decided that all fears, phobias should not be shared, she should be allowed to take the joys of adventure and the pleasures of carving her own trail.
Leap of faith at Atlantis, well done!
My niece is like me. She has just started college on a full scholarship at Toronto university. She used to get into serious depressions when she got 97% on any exam. Her father (my brother) used to explain that her results were good, but she would fret over the missing 3%. My daughter does ok in school, she is in her final year, we have only asked that she put in her best effort and leave the rest to God.
All the very best to all parents. Pat yourselves on the back, You are doing a great job!
