Does anyone here use besan or gram flour in their hair mask? I read somewhere online that it's good for hair and can be used as hair mask. I tried it couple of times, but I noticed more hair fall. So I am looking if it helped anyone here with their hair?
It is used pretty commonly, mostly along with yogurt. My mom has used it before and liked how it made her hair feel. I think it is added to hair packs mostly for its cleansing properties. If it is causing hair fall, you can add triphala powder or shikakai powder instead for the same purpose (cleansing).
I have tried Besan and curds combo and I loved it.Besan hair pack (mix of Besan and water) is known to provide shiny hair, but if your hair is on the drier side it is recommended to mix Besan with full fat curds and use as a hair pack, rinse with Luke warm water. No shampoo is needed as Besan acts as a hair cleanser. Make sure to gently scrub your scalp with finger tips while washing to prevent hair fall. Green gram is a good hair cleanser too, here are few tried recipes. Anti hair fall shampoo Mix together equal quantities of very finely powdered - green gram flour and fenugreek seed powder with some water to make a fine paste, leave overnight, grind to mix well into slimy mixture.Apply this lavishly on your scalp.Wash with cool water. These powders are available in Indian stores. Hair wash paste Mix equal measures of unshelled green gram flour and fenugreek seed powder with little water into a smooth paste and leave overnight.Grind the soaked mixture with a handful of hibiscus leaves, little gram powder (besan) and required rice starch. You can be liberal with rice starch as it acts as a hair conditioner and keeps the hair shiny.Wash hair with this paste. Anti dandruff and hair growth shampoo Green gram paste is mixed with black gram paste (urad dal flour) for washing the hair.
Besan flour mixed with water with no lumps into a consistency suitable to apply to scalp and hair should be fine to use.Make sure to leave the pack on for 30 mins and wash with Luke warm water. This acts as a natural hair cleanser and is known to provide soft and shiny hair. Since my hair is on the drier side I tried a mix of besan and curds and was happy with the result. I don’t know to what extent your scalp is greasy, just try and see if it works for you.If you still find your scalp greasy try adding some additional cleansers to the besan paste like Lemon juice/Reetha juice to beat the oiliness.
