Hi ladies.. I m using prestige induction base non-stick dosa tawa for the past 3.5 years. I make excellent dosas on it. But for about a month I m facing problems with it. I m not able to get even a single proper dosa. It sticks to the tawa. Should I change the tawa? How often do you all wash your tawas? Any tips for maintaining please..???

recently i had a very young friend who discussed with us in a birthday party that really made us all confused and in utter shock. now im totally afraid .just dont want to make u confuse but its always better to be careful
she told us not to buy non stick vessels at all its very very unhealthy
i hav evrything in nonstick and few hav gone layers after scrubbing off whioe washing yet im cooking fine for years.
without tearing off the layers its very hard to wash it that too non veg items
but i wish if ur going to buy new ones better try silver stuff
    anyone can say on this?
should i need to throw off any non stick cookwares??

I use cast iron griddle pan for making dosas. Never sticks and moreover unlike non stick pans, no health hazard and will last a life time. Look into some cast iron pans. They are great for dasa, aadai, roti, omelets etc.

i use non stick only for fries .. All other I do it in steel or indalium pan .. For dosa I use non stick pan for chapathi cast iron ( I failed with dosa) .. Yes even when I went to a store an old lady told us not to buy non stick ( we are in queue line with bunch of cookware ).. We don't know whose is that lady usually in us they don't interfere but we felt like she is right .. Returned everything .. But still for Dosa n frying aloo I use it .. We can't complete stay way ..

so think what items u can do in steel or indalium pan .. So u can reduce using non stick

I too have everything in non-stick except pressure cookers and a kadai which I use for deep frying. Always thought about advantage of nonstick wares which is easy cleaning. Never thought about its hazards. What you said is correct. But I feel that maintaining and cleaning stainless steel wares is difficult. I would rather choose indalium.
