Diwali Contest 2015 - Diwali Diya Decoration

Thank you. I live in us, I have done that with mateirals available here in budget.. you can tweak it according to your available materials. I bought a foam board from dollar tree and cut it in the pre drawn design with an exacto knife .. applied glue liberally on it, sprinkled a box of silver glitter .. dusted off the excess glitter with a brush .. voila my pretty center piece is ready .. we can also use it for christmas decor .. total cost of the project was under 5dollars

If in India you can get mdf boards cut in shapes in craft shops.. if done on that it will be more long lasting.

 

diyas were made of crayola air dry clay.. no moulds , handmade with a lot of trial and error .. painted with fevicryl pearl colors..
centerpiece method I posted in other post already.
Mason jars -take a mason jar drop glue in it and shake it well take a box of glitter and shake it well ..glittered jars are ready and can be reused

due to busy schedule now a days i became a late comer this time. Just yesterday i found time to log in and saw the notification of contest and thank you chitra for tagging me. some how i managed to diya decoration with the available things. and here comes my entry.

 

1. I have used thermocol sheet for the base and covered it with trace paper for smooth appearance.
2. I have painted diyas in different colours.
3. I have used green, red and gold lace and patch for decoration.

 

Wow @surekhap dear its so beautiful , a feast to the eyes, though you came late you have given a treat to us

 

Though in the beginning there was no posts , now there are so many posts of Diya decoration, judges are going to have a tough time selecting the winner. We at IL are so lucky to have so many talented people. After seeing everyone's diya decoration mine is nothing
