    Hi,

    Hi Lakshmi,

I am working, and i do not like to prepare foods in advance and storing in Fridge.
Sometimes i cut veg in night and cook in the morning.
I cook one main meal and side dish in the morning and pack the same for lunch
and in the evening by 7.30 only i will return from office after that i will prepare for dinner.
Hence i cook twice and in the night after dinner is over i wash the dishwares and clean the kitchen for next day cooking. I have also downloaded the Weekly meal planner from this thread and added the same type of format
for 4 weeks in the same file, this gives me a quick look of old menus, so that i will not repeat it and i will be able to plan menus in advance. And in future i will refer if i run out of ideas for dinner or break fast:drowning.
Weekly meal planner is helpful in cooking different varieties for my family.:cheers

    Happy Cooking!

    Magee

Am a working mom too. Since my son was born, I have my parents/in laws taking their turns every 6months once. So, I never had this cooking problem.

But the best way, we plan things are.. Sat'day outing day.. Eating outside, grocery, shopping etc etc.. Sunday full day rest.. we'll do laundry that day..

anyone send me meal planner please..

I normally cut my veg previous evening .In one of the threads I have written how I keep my kitchen ready for any event .
yes I plan my menu for the week /accordingly buy my veg.earlier I used to buy vegs on sunday now a days I get it on thursday evening on my way back from work.
So thursday I clean all vegs both of us do this together.I do all the greens .and he the others .
    On sundays I make
    1.masalas grinding coconut /kutu/onion/tomato etc.
2.one or two chutneys so it goes for the week.(dhania/ dosa kai/ coconut /thuvar dhal etc)
    Our menu typically :
    morning B.F . Idly/ upma (rawa, dhalia poha rice rawa ) /parata plain or stuffed.Seve ( coconut .nimbu /parup uslietc/)
lunch : rice ,curry rasam.curds /chutney and either sambhar or mor kozhambu or pappu .
snack some stuff like biscuits/ bow biscuits /sheede /muruku/ mixture etc with tea.
dinner : rice and fresh curry but other things like rasam chutney brought forwards from morning.
I wake up at 6.00 a.m typically on one stove keep milk ,one stove chounk for veg and add veg ,another for dhal or sambhar or whatever in menu/another rasam.
by this time tea ready .take a cup of milk for H's coffee make his coffee .both have tea/coffee together. Then I get back to kitchen finish the cooking make break fast upma etc transfer to caserole /tea in flask(2) one for my work one for h at 10.30 am.& for evening . If it is parata the dough is made earlier day. Its for thursday & friday as we do not have rice on these 2 days.
pack 2 tiffins one for me one for h .
put all vessels for wash .
7.30 am Go to pluck flowers for God clean Gods room keep flowers for God
Go for bath 8.30 pooja time 15mins bf 10mins and leave at 9.00 am
earlier I use to leave at 8a.m so use to wake up at 5 am and maid use to pluck flowers .
    Evening return at 5.30 -6
h serves tea & snack ( he is retired and at home .
after that make garlend for next day morning for God as servant plucks malli poo
.then at 7 watch TV and chop veg and any thing else if reqd for next day .go for bath keep rice cooker and make sabji .tell prayers.Dinner at 8.30pm
after 9 its my time read/ watch TV whatever else phone calls etc.
