Rest assured, Malathy, you did not offend me. When I told my wife that there is an innocent woman there in IL who thinks that my wife is 23, my wife told me looking straight, "Oh, I am only 23. Who told you otherwise?"
I told her that it was her age when we married. And she told me that she has not aged a day after that. I dont know whether she paid a compliment to me.
But your post resulted in some interesting conversation.
I was about to thank you for that before this post came.

Dear Kamla,

No sweat. I enjoy replying to you. I dont think and write. I just see your post, click the quote button and start writing. So it doesn't take much time either. But I am fully involved in writing replies (to all the FB) and that has surely honed my writing skills.

Men-only holidays are quite common here. Women-only holidays are also there; but not very common. The problem is we are all afraid to send our women alone. It's a bad, bad world out there.

Dear Varalotti, Good experience to be shared in IL. We donot know the true colors of many people unless otherwise we move very closely with them. There are people who look good and act bad and vice versa. So we have to be more careful when we mix with them. It is better to keep away from the snake than stamping it.

Call girls are really a pathetic thing in our society. They r forced to enter into the profession and this is the only profession which is done without any self satisfaction. A person in other profession will have his job satisfaction at some point, but those girls can never have that.

Dear Sujatha,
Thanks for the FB. It was an experience which shook me to the rootsof my being. So I thought it belongs to all of us. Good and bad are but pigeonholes into which we cannot fit most of our fellow-inhabitants.

Call girls are a really pathetic thing. Very few have understood them. Even somebody as great as Stephen Hawking once remarked, Scientists and prostitutes are the luckiest people on earth. They get paid for what they love to do. (not exact words).

I don't know about scientists. About prostitutes I am sure that they do not love what they do. You see in the incident the lady virtually pounced on the lawyer to save me. Which means she detested him. And she has to share her bed with that person. Will it not be nauseating for her? I shudder to think of that.

She 11

Most Gracious ILites,

A few minutes from now I will be uploading SHE 11. When SHE 8 was published there was a mild uproar. One ILite told me that she whistled on reading SHE 8, to signify her shock at the nature of the contents.

To that ILite I now tell, "Madam get ready to whistle twice for SHE 11."

Is there any special preparation necessary for reading SHE 11? None other than having an open mind.

wow this article was really great.i always used to think is virginity just lack of opportunity.as vyasa said "never be alone with a sister and mother".but after reading ur article i feel still there are people who see woman more like a human being and less like a woman.

Yes, chastity is still a question of opportunity. And I am not a saint. So my way of staying chaste is to avoid all the possible opportunities. Above all I am chaste and good so far because, God has let me be so. For if he decides to test me, I will be no where.

Your post moved me.And where were u all these days. I have just discovered a great writer and a human being.Hats off to u,Varlotti.

This reminds me of a tale my grandmother used to tell us when we were kids.

A famous Singer used to sing the songs of God,opp his house lived a prostitute.The lady used to sneak outside this fellow’s window to hear his praises of God, and this fellow used to sneak outside her house to look at her beauty.

When they died, the singer found himself in hell and her in heaven.He asked god the reason, and was told , that she did a great thing by listening to the lord’s praises, her heart was of gold, while u the singer has a sweet tongue, but a lousy heart.Something to this effect I don’t remember the exact words, as we were very small, but now I recall this with yr wonderful blog.

What can I say, but that u have moved me, and I am rarely moved otherwise.Thank u.Regards.kamal

Dear Kamalji,
Reading your words I feel like having won the Gnanpeet Award. I have also heard the story narrated by your grandmother. It's in Saint Ramakrishna's fables. Ramakrishna Paramhamsa adds another twist to the story. When the singer is annoyed with God that he had not been rewarded properly, God explains to him with a smile.
"You served me with your body.See what kind of honours your body is getting there in the earth. They have decorated with all the flowers available and they are going to take it in a procession and cremate it with military honours. Your body served me and has got the reward on earth. Here above we reward the mind and the motive. So you are going to hell. That lady did not serve me with her body. See her body is being dragged by dogs and devoured by insects. There is nobody available even to do the funeral. So that's the punishment for her body. But her mind was serving me and and hence she is in heaven now."
