@damini i missed replying to your post . i know it is just a mental block. my dh now voluntarily takes varagu, kudiravali..and says thinai he does not want..it is just that he does not want try them..but i am happy that he has started cooking for himself and has lost a little weight too. and that pumpkin raita is that white ashgourd or yellow pumpkin raita..if yellow, i have used it in baking and chutneys, avials and sambhars but not raita..should try.

@butterflyice the one that we use prominently for diabetes is navalpazham..jamun in hindi and neredu pallu in telugu. even the seeds are used for diabetes treatment. one of my favorite fruits and they cost 250-300rs/kg.now
with the ragi flour you can make muffins, thattai, adai, dosa and koozhu..

Baked Ragi and oats thattai – A guilt free snacking or a illusion?? - Blogs - IndusLadies
Ragi, benefits and a farmer's breakfast/dieter's whole some food - Blogs - IndusLadies
An article and a recipe!!! - Blogs - IndusLadies

and adai i have given the recipe here in one of the posts itself.

puttu is a acquired taste and if you life..you do it just like rice or wheat puttu..i am not a fan of puttu neither the kids..so we don't indulge in this.

the morning breakfast these days is kambu koozhu and kelvaragu koozhu and somedays besan chilla.

Yesterday lunch plate was lauki/bottlegourd sabji, bittergourd steamed with tomatoes and onions, couscous with carrot and methi (made carrot and methi rice for the kdis) i actually had taken a photo, but looks like i messed up. it is not traceable..

had half the bottlegourd left and for the evening i made lauki+carrot+cabbage+coriander and some besan ,salt and chilli powder mixed to made these snacks..kofta,.

Today's lunch i had made some rasam. due to some mess up, the whole rasam bowl fell down..ended up making some dal powder mix immediately (long pending looks like this was the moment to make it..).

barley with spicy dal powder, corn gravy sabji, cucumber with roasted flax seeds, onion and tomato instant thokku, curds...

the kofta colour is superb you have added besan powder, I will make kofta with boiled rice and the colour of soya will turn in to dark brown. How you get this yellow ting ?
