    Dear Friends,

I have been worrying about my baby girl since she started sleeping on her tummy. Now she is 10 months old n she has been sleeping on her tummy since she was 2nd month by bending her legs. She continuing to sleep in the same way till today. If I didn't lie her on her stomach, she'd jerk herself awake all night.

Does any one have the same situation arised in the past or present and how did u guys face this problem with ur babies n I would like to take your suggestions to solve this problem.

    Thanq in advance !!!

    Hi Teja,

A 10months old is well grown to sleep on her tummy. As long as they know to lift their head and turn by themselves you can allow them to sleep on their tummy or by their sides.

There is a warning about affected by SIDS only if they are less than 4 to 6months olds, when they don't know to turn by themselves.

My baby is 8months old and always likes to turn and sleep by her sides like adults!

    Regards,
    Nila

    Dear Nila,

Thanku very much for ur reply. My baby is crawling, walking and eating almost everything is fine. The only thing I am worrying about her is her sleeping position. I too read about SIDS but haven't heard that it is less than 4 to 6 months olds. Now I can take a deep breath.

    Thanq again Nila !!!

    Hai Teja,
I don't think it is a cause for concern. I used to put my son on my chest and once he is fully asleep, I will put him on the bed. There was no problem. Your baby can easily lift its head and turn on the side, so no need to worry. If the baby feels comfortable in that position, let it be. If too anxious about it, do ask you paed. when you visit next.

    Dear Tejudatla...

I guess by now all your questions and concerns have been addressed. Small babies are not supposed to sleep on their tummies. It has been strongly adviced . But your baby is older and it should be okay.
    Kisses to your little one.

    L, Kamla

    Dear Varloo,

I agree with u. But some where some where in my mind I am really worrying about it and I asked many of my frns n some of em felt it might not a problem at all. I also consulted my family doctor n she told me to let her sleep in the way that she feels comfortible so that she can feel very safe herself n no need to worry about it any more as she felt that my baby is very active.

Thanq Varloo for sharing with me...
    Teja:)
