If mommy is so scared...let her keep her sonny boy in her womb and cross her legs shut.

    Solution to the problem....
If you can't part with your son...don't get him married.
If you are scared of losing your territorial hold over your kingdom....let the dil have her one home far away from where she can't cast an evil eye on your home.
If you want a pet...get one.

    I agree with @VanithaSudhir...
MILs want their son to get settled after marriage...[wonder who defines the word "settled" here..??]
They go to thousands of astrologers to get horoscopes matched...look for the best for the son...[for what???]...then get a grand wedding done...and when the girl actually comes home..the behaviour changes.Mothers suddenly becomes over caring by taking care of sons clothes, make tasty food for him and making sure he is comfortable.[I say this as i have seen my mom doing to brother].If she had plans to do all this even after the wife coming in,then i dont think there was any reason for marriage and bringing the gal home.[I sometimes wonder what was the intention behind they getting son married...]
If the DIL volunteers to cook, she is called "DIL has taken over kitchen".IF DIL takes care of house shopping..she is told "DIL has put me to corner..i dont have any say".If u sit or stand,it is considered wrong. That shows that they dont like the new person at home. They could have as well finished wedding and gal and boy can go back to their respective homes.Whn the time comes(read :pILs getting very old and not strong enuf)..they can call the DIL back home......

So a girl's mother doesn't go through any of the difficulties while bringing HER up?? Why is it only boy's mother went thru such great difficulty highlighted; while a girl's parents sacrifice are ignored big time? :idontgetit:
