He has been in power for just about nine months and let us wait and see in the remaining four years and thyree months how much the country is looted.

To be fair, at the time it was done, it may have been more like taking the blame or standing in the firing line. As a good leader she might have sought to shield the policeman/policewoman from any wrath from above. Naturally no body expects a senior officer to personally tow a car. Such things happen only when the personnel feel empowered by their superiors.

This is politicking in hind sight. AAP is great at it.

That's probably the least of the problems. Who is he gonna give it to?

To know about the man, read this about him first published ~20 years ago. Here is a recent mention of it in Hindu.

    http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/open-page/a-train-journey-and-two-names-to-remember/article6070562.ece

    short version excerpted here:
    http://proactiveindian.com/2014/06/07/train-journey-with-narendra-modi/

The bigger concern is about the communal harmony and whether Modi does something that's not "Raj Dharma" as Vajpayee put it. Even if Modi is fair, the opposition parties can create and foster an air of tension/suspicion among people and foreign heads of state. Lately the political leaders of most parties have little statesmanship. AAP has the least of it. If they can criticize a tall leader for using red lights on their car, they will.

You get some credit not all . For so many years kiran bedi was crane bedi . She got
National fame and respect for that . We never heard of that sub inspector. In a team it is the responsibility of manager to give credit where it is due not hog all limelight .
more over it turned out India Gandhi was not in it nor travelled in it, it is one of many cars owned by PMO .

Income vs spending disparity is the problem . 10l on 1 suit.

you may not feeling anything but some of us feel ashamed that we are being told off on religious tolerance just like some rouge countries . And our PMO does not think to speak up of important matter .

good point . But she could have shared the actual story later . I was a huge fan , I was disappointed with her when I saw in various news debates . And this is even
Big disappointment for me personally. Note I don't have a problem with her daughters medical seat . But this was the essence of her .

Amummy , the responsibility or credit of what a subordinate does partly accrues to the superior because it is the superior who motivates the junior. So I have no grudege about her being called crane Bedi but there are other major issues which I have explained in my thread..

    Lets see what kejriwal does.....

As afar as i have seen, he is only goody two shoes when everything goes his way....

And the most ridiculous part is blaming judges, election commition and refusing to investigate against his party members after election victory by saying oh the people have washes the sins away.

Hopefully less antagonism against institutions and more towards the people who are not doing thier job.

In democracy.... The people are god.......

I will judge kejri and even modi again after their tenures.........

Best of luck to both of them and god bless them as delhi and nation need the best they can get........

Bharat mata ki jai...... Jai Hind....

I am sure, unlike AK, he won't along with his team go to watch movie in theatres (even if it was before the results). A responsible matured person, if confidant about the results, would plan his strategy to move forward for the betterment of the people.

Anyways regarding Modi, I loved it when he went to meet with the Indian armed forces during his visit to the Sicahen Base Camp and that too on Diwali. Call it marketing or whatever, it just makes me happy to even think how much the army ppl would be happy and proud of themselves that they got to celebrate Diwali with an Indian PM. And of course not to forget that the army ppl atleast got an order to fire back when the Pakistan army started firing, instead of sitting helpless.

In defense of Modi, although i don't claim that it is 100% true:

Modi, as we see, as he is getting portrayed on our national (news) tv channels, is an arrogant, whimsical, egoistic religious fanatic playing to the corporate interests.

But behind the scenes, he is a meticulous planner and he has a very strong team who decides each of his move. This came to the limelight during his election campaign when professionals working in many spheres of interest took leave and organized it.

From Narendra Modi to brand Modi: Meet the team behind BJP's unprecedented poll campaign - Economic Times

Case study: The strategy and tactics behind the creation of Brand Modi - Business Today

Does the above 2 articles suggest anything of Modi's image as portrayed in the english news channels?

About the 10 lakh rupee dress: does anyone know about the allowances that is provided for the Indian president, who is nothing but a namesake and a ceremonial head? Or the sort of extravagant training given to IFS personal(foreign)?

One expense doesn't justify the other(say, Sonia Gandhi flown to US for her medical treatment at government's expense), what matters is how much of this personality grooming goes into building up an image of a charming, able-minded leader capable of leading the country into high growth path.

One summary into Indian history is enough to explain why India is so much tolerable(or intolerable) depending upon the circumstances. Obama is playing to his own domestic politics and not speaking about it doesn't mean the top man is not considering it important or otherwise.

Thanks to our paparazzi news media, we know all about Obama's beast car, his chewing gum, Modi's 10L suit, but do we know what benefits actually happened over this republic day visit?
