I read Bhagavad Gita twice within past two years, from start to end.

This time when I read it, I wish to go more in depth and gain more wisdom. Since Bhagavad Gita is only one book with many verses, is it better to go from start to end, or is there another way, to read verses in a certain order to grasp certain points, i.e in some Bible study programs, they says read part of one book one day, and then read another part of the same book about two weeks later.

    Can anyone give insights?

    Hi
BG is brahma-vidya. The best way of learning it͵ as Lord Krishna himself advises͵ is to approach a competent Guru͵ prostrate at his/her feet and humbly ask questions. The qualifications a learner must have are mentioned in the concluding verses (18th chapt) of the Gita. It might help to attune our minds accordingly before we start learning.

Perhaps a bit of elaboration is required here. The secret teaching of Vedanta is that within us is an infinite͵ eternal stream of bliss͵ while this outside world is like nothing before it - rather like the image as seen in a mirror etc. A competent Guru will also teach certain techniques by which one is able to directly experience this bliss. That will give unshakeable conviction and help us understand the meaning of many counterintuitive slokas in their true light. This is the *best way*. With intellectual knowledge of slokas we might get some momentary pleasure but since the mind dissipates its energy in various activities͵ there will be memory loss͵ lack of conviction͵ contradictory understanding caused by varying interpretations of the same sloka etc.

I guess I'll have to find competent Guru ......

Right now when I have problems, I talk out loud to God about them, so perhaps this will lead the way ...

Why perhaps dear sister...prayer to God with a pure mind has always been great for upliftment... in my experience.

In fact͵ rereading my earlier messages͵ who am I to say what is or isnt a best way to study the Gita! Truly God directs our lives all the time and will take us to our Gurus at the right time.
