Let me know your feedback on this. I am also planning to buy Garlic Press for fresh garlic paste. I had one earlier but it got broken within couple of days.

Another gadget I am eyeing on is
Amazon.com: Mandoline Slicer - Julienne, Dicer, Chopper, Shredder, Cutter - Home Kitchen Tools Set - MONEY BACK GUARANTEE - Commercial Grade Stainless Steel V Blades - 5 Slicer Blade Insert Sizes - Easy Processor for Slicing Cheese, Meat, Vegetables

Sure I will inform you about my experience.

We have mandoline slicer but ours is Oxo.. I find it little difficult to use for day to day purposes but sometime when you have to cut lots of vegetable slices it is really useful.

1)The single most useful thing in my kitchen is a set of amazing knives. I have the Henckels Twin Pro S set bought 15 years ago, and with proper care they are good as new. I can chop everything quickly: onions, vegetables and all kinds of fruit.
For garlic, I follow the Food Network method: just smash the cloves with the flat of the knife blade to loosen the skin, then chop.

    2) Kitchen Aid stand mixer: very useful for making bread dough

    3) Preethi Mixie: good for all Indian spice powders and chutneys

    4) Vitamix: makes excellent juices and smoothies

    5) Electric rice cooker: makes perfect rice every time

I have an OXO mandoline slicer but I have not warmed up to it yet. For me it seems more work to set it up, use it carefully without slicing off my fingers, changing blades etc.
I prefer just to chop using a super-sharp knife.

Yes Malstorm this is what is topping me to buy. I am thinking to buy Zyliss Chopper..it has one attachment and finger guard. Most of the setting is with moving a button (for thickness) . Planning to buy this weekend and will post my experience.

Any one using garlic press? I want to buy as I like taste of crushed garlic as compare to chopped but little worried if it is worth as my previous one got broken in 5-6 use.

I think you can try to buy them at bed bath and beyond stores. If you didnot like that or break, they will refund you even after 6 months. Their customer service is very good.

    Hi Tavishi25,
The set I have is similar to this one, and I bought it from this website:
    Zwilling J.A. Henckels Professional S Knife Block Set, 7-piece | cutleryandmore.com
I also have a sharpening stone:
Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Sharp Duo Knife Sharpener | cutleryandmore.com
I sharpen the knives using the stone and the sharpening steel at least a few times a week, and never put them in the dishwasher.

Thank you 2Babymom letting me know this policy. Mostly I buy kitchen appliances from Bath and Beyond. Even planning this time too.
Last time I had bought from walmart (one which got broken)

I absolutely love my cusinart food processor. It's the big 14 cup one! I used it for all my chopping/grating/atta kneading needs when I had my shoulder issues - Amazon.com: Cuisinart FP-14DC Elite Collection 14-Cup Food Processor, Die Cast: Full Size Food Processors: Kitchen & Dining
Now I just use my Tomodachi knives to chop. My shoulders are healed and I don't feel the need to zap everything in the FP although in a rush or while cooking lots of stuff I still use it. In the weekends it's attached to my counter top because I'm always cooki stuff. I always use it for atta kneading. It's easy to use and I chop stuff in a jiffy. I hate washing the FP, although all parts are dishwasher safe, I generally wash those blades by hand and put it away to avoid accidents.
