    Dear Kamla,

You took me by complete surprise. My posts, given their somewhat short longevity on the first page of snippets, get me worried if they reappear when they are not expected to. Makes me feel a bit like a trespasser. :confused2: But the fact that you decided to read it and even remember your own tailor suggests that a I found my way into a heart or two!

To tell you frankly, I enjoyed reading your sartorial memoirs almost endlessly. That was a fine piece without a doubt. I even visualized Vittal Rao. As with Cheeniya, the Marathas invaded your life too. I recalled, quite unreasonably that the same Marthas made Aurangzeb lose his sleep. He never managed to return back to Delhi. But I asked myself who it was that stitched Aurangzeb's garments in the Martha region. Perhaps the tailors held him back more than Shivaji's refusal to surrender. But in your case, they sent you so far away from your home!

It was quite a treat to read your fb when I least expected anyone to remember that oj existed.

And now you inform me that Kamal the Crazy has exercised his right to nominate. :spin

    Love.

    Dear Kamal,

This is very embarrassing friend. Kamla says you nominated me. And all this time I was struggling elsewhere with a poem I have been thinking about for the last 20 years and trying to translate for a year or so. As you know, I am not used to being read much.

Best wishes and thanks for your friendship.

    Dear Suryakala,

Thank you so much friend. You saw so much in this that I failed to point out. The element of universality in it. It was everone's story. I suppose these "everyone" tales are the ones which matter in life. They can rise above boundaries drawn by languages or cultures. Of course, I am no great artist, but yesterday I was thinking about silent movies. Chaplin produced classics with tales that did not need a language to be told. His stories were everyone's stories. I wish I could fish out more of these people whose identities we can commonly share.Best regards.

    Dear Kamalji,

How busy is your mind when it comes to money matters! Wish I had even a fraction of your financial acumen! I am sure you could make a buck or two with this innovative idea of your's if you put your thought to practice.

But must tell you, the tailor's dummy already exists...may not be inflatable, but a solid thing. I have added its pic for your benefit!! These dummies are so popular and even have artistic value and some use it as a decor for the house!! Ji, the problem is not the measurements, but the reality of having a "MOM" at the other end to take the trouble of getting the garment made, which incidentally is what my darling mother did for as long as she could. But when she passed on, no such luck..dummies or not!

Now, you being in the garment business...Why don't you instead of 'snippetting' about it, start some such facility to all your online friends. I know you have an army of them!! I for one will gain out of it!:2thumbsup:

    Uff Oj dada,

You have not changed a bit!! Do you need to decry yourself so?!!

Dont tell me you are not aware of the fact that you are well read and a man of literature and who can write?! Even if you have not met your own high expectations of yourself, you have more than met our expectations and you by now must know we all run behind your snippets like little puppies after their mother!

Thanks for liking my response to you. Good begets good!!

    L, Kamla

    Dear Kamla,

i read that oj said that kamal the crazy has nominated me.HAHA.

Yes at times even i wonder if i am sane or crazy, so i think OJ has read me right.

Coming to the dummy, do u know i am in the garment trade and export garments to yr country in thousands. We had these dummies for donkeys years, these are for the gerneral public for the masses in fact,

what i talk about is an indiviual persons measurments on a dummy, an inflatable doll, of the exact size of the person, which is kept , say one in cheenai where yr parents stay for example, and one in another city where yr inlaws stay, both places for example have the tailor of yr choice, so one sitting in america can get made to order garments from india, thanks to the dummy which can be taken to the tailor by the mother or MIL, inflated, measyurements taken, and garments made.

i can just give ideas, u wont find a lazier person than me otherwise, ideawise, they come in torrents,HAHA, byut none has found any practical use yet.

So if anyone can find use ot it, take it free, like Lee gave away the internet free to the public, i too give my dieas away free.HAHA

    Regards

    kamal
