Shruti, Welcome back Mine sits, but mostly likes to stand. Mine is 8 months old and just started having one tooth. Heard for some babies it takes even 12 months to have teeth. So no worries there..
Hi ladies I'm here after a long time. Is your lo sitting yet? Mine isn't. He loves to stand a lot but not interested to sit. Should I be concerned.? .my lo hasn't got a tooth yet. He became 7 months old last week. Hes doing good on solids.
Hi uma thanks. Mine doesn't sit up on his own from sleeping position. Does your lo sit up all on his own? Great to know he has one tooth
Uma i dont freeze , i make fresh each meal. And more things i follow the same timing daily for his solids . Just try sticking to the same time, it will work wonders
Dhivya, I work outside and can't be home for his breakfast/lunch. In laws need me to prepare meal for him (as they have no idea what to feed the baby). So, I prefer freezing the meal than provide them the recipe to make it. Works for us and the nutrition is the same as fresh meal. On sticking to the same schedule, i try to do it in the evening. I'm successful most of the time. But if I schedule is off the track and I come home late, everything else is late :drowning
Shruti...my lo has also not started sitting. I think it is early to panic. All babies are different. I make him sit with pillows on three sides and after a few minutes I see that he is lying down. He sits on his own for some seconds.
April what you mean by sitting on his own? U mean sitting up from sleeping position? Mine me sits for some seconds with support but he loves standing and pulls himself to standing position from sleeping position. ladies I'm consulting a pediatrician in India and He says to stop giving 24 oz formula or bm and instead give him 500ml of it and introduce more solids. He also told me to stop giving bottles as it catches bottle infection This is contradictory to what usa doctor had told. She told solids just for fun till one year. Im confused however I want to know how much ml Indian moms here in this forum are giving to their lo? QUOTE=april1981;3425017]Shruti...my lo has also not started sitting. Shruthi: 24oz in total in a day you mean? According to doctors here (with both my DD and DS) babies from 7-8 months should have anywhere from 20-30 OZ a day in total. this is just a ballpark but my doc said not to go beyond 30 oz very strictly. Solids should still be a like a snack as the amount of nutrition they get from milk cannot be equated to solids. Again this my 2 cents and what I am doing. I don't think this should be drastically different in India and I have seen my Sis in india do the same thing.
Shruti, My pead never gave limit for anything.. She says give as per you baby needs.. Here is what I give.. 1. 5 or 6 times milk ( Mostly Formula and BM during sleep and in evening.. Formula is Nan 2) 2. 2 times semi-solid ( Nestum Rice or Home Made Dhal Rice with Carrots or Ceralac - Wheat Apple ). Mom advises me not to give solids post evening as digestion will be difficult. So one around 9.00 AM and another around 4.00 PM or 5.00 PM. 3. 1 Medium sized boiled apple in the noon. Milk is the main food for this age and too much solid will be difficult for them to digest.. He is gonna be 8 months in few days and my lo has not started sitting.. He is still creeping and goes around all the places.. He attempts for crawling position but not successful so far.. He can sit and stand with support and mostly loves to stand and jump.. Hope this helps.. [/QUOTE]
