Creche for 5 year old..Your tips/advices please

Hi All

We would be dropping DD in a daycare(at her school) from next week.

She was with her grandparents all these years or she had someone or the other to look after her.

This is the first time we are putting her in a daycare

Request you all to post your tips like how to train her and also some advices for us.

You have to start talking to her about the daycare days before she actually joins. Talk to her about it everyday. This will help her understand what to expect and be prepared at least a little bit.

Talk about the positives of daycare and assure her that mom and/or dad will definitely come back to pick her up.
Also make sure that once she starts going, you listen attentively to what she has to say about her day.

Apart from that, there are lots of things such as watching out for any infection/abuse/other. Try and make friends with some of the other parents so that you are better informed and if any issue arises, you can all address it jointly.
