    Won't you be courteous...

Each one of us have been in this situation multiple times in requirements related to school, college, bank, employment, passport, visa, id cards, etc.

We are projected in different sizes, backgrounds. In these situations the photographer is very courteous and says smile please or say cheeeeeez or some one good at it cracks a joke, makes you smile and clicks your picture.

We too are happy seeing our pictures all in smiles most of the time. The passport photographs don't cost much these days and being digital it is faster too.

In this scenario, the picture is the most expensive you would ever pose for and they don't have the courtesy to seek neither your permission nor say cheeeeeez before they snap. Why can't they be courteous enough?

When I pay hefty don't I have the right to smile and be cheerful? What is this expensive snap? Oh it is the RADAR snap that flashes when you speeeeeed. :)

Technology has advanced and why don't they communicate just while snapping so that I can smile and say cheeeeeez to myself because I want to look nice on the most expensive snap. :)

Definitely I could have avoided speeding, saved the expensive snap, which most of us do while we know the placement of the fixed radars. This happens only where they keep mobile radars now and then.

Either we stick to speed limits and smile for saving the fine or if they communicate just before the snap say cheeeeeez to yourself and look good in the picture. Because nothing can be done after that - why worry, be happy.

I would relate this to life events. All of us are careful to avoid problems that we can visualize and avoid if possible or at least get prepared to tackle it with minimum disruption possible and keep smiling (these are sort of fixed radars)

In the case where we are unaware of problems cropping up, why cry or feel sad? What difference would that make? Nothing. (these are sort of mobile radars).

Hence let's say cheeeeeez to ourselves and smile all the way. That gives actually the confidence to better tackle the problem in hand. In this case let us be courteous to ourselves... A cool, composed and happy mindset works always in favor of us - do remember that be it fixed or mobile radar/problems. :)

    Dear GG,
Cool, composed, happy mindset.....a good definition for life but in practice always not possible. We can try, no doubt, but sometimes feel like screaming at ourselves and we are the worst judges of ourselves. Others...we can take them easy and are extremely courteous (even if it is a mask) but ourselves we cannot put the mask. So, what we always do it blame someone else for our bad moods. Not fair, but that is what happens. We can forgive others easily but not ourselves. Brood and brood. Then we need a shoulder to lean on or pour our woes.

GG, While I agree 100% with shyamala, loved the way you presented the post. Liked the point in the snippet.. be positive.. smile and be at peace. Even if we cant be happy, we can be at least try to compose ourselves in difficult times (if not in all, in few manageable circumstances), which I dont do generally (thats different topic anyway)

    Thanks for a good post.

At least in California, they have sign that says photograph enforced before the signal light. I don't speed (+-5MPH) and use cruise control. The expensive photograph is not worth it with or without the smile.

The idea was to express "to take lightly". If we could avoid, nothing like it. Thank you A2.

    Dear GG,

:) :) :) Just thought I'd be careful and start with a smile!

I see you really do worry a bit too much about your profile that may not be smiling when caught unawares?!! I don't think I had the pleasure of seeing smiling faces around traffic lights and junctions that has radar detectors to snap the erring drivers!! If anything, all of them are turning their heads helter skelter to see if they did any wrong move and if the flash that went off was meant for them or not..a streak of worry on the faces. Not a single Cheshire cat amongst them!!

Jokes aside, expensive or not, there will be hardly a smile when one is caught doing something wrong! Yes, it is nice to have a pleasant smile to make everyone feel good. So I thought until I realized that at times a stern look gets things done!

Nice one Gji...Congratulations on the nomination to FP of the month by Pallavi4me!

Very Nice one GG! I missed it :(
Looks like someone was busy speeding away and forgot about the all-important smile pose. So says GG ‘Either Make smiles even more stylish with googles or don’t speed, save ogles’. Thanks!...lessons learnt.
On a serious note, Yes completely agree with you. “smiling can help you see the world through brighter lenses”.. Am all smiles now..but what's with Venus? :rant Scary eh..point noted! waitingsmiley

I got caught once while riding my friends chevy beat LT 1.2 in Hyderabad, the max speed limit is 110kmph on the ORR, now coming to this, when some problem crops up, which we never thought of (mobile radars), at that time our mind fails and automatically it starts into the default code of worry , so in order to practice what you have stated, we must always engage ourselves in the state of "OR" GATE,which gives the required confidence to tackle things in a composed manner...
    Nice one GG...
