Lose weight by counting calories .. easier than you think!!

    Look at the above. In the first post, I asked the same question you asked me. The whole first page of that thread, you will members saying it is not possible.

    From the second page, you can see members who already do calorie counting, explaining it in great detail. Then the thread has run into 7 pages.

    Read them , you will understand it step by step.

    Oh Pickles, I was super excited to see that weight (though typo error)................
    I can imagine I was around 56kgs in college, after marriage and after the delivery I have never hit below 64kgs:(:(. My max weight had hit as high as 71kgs after delivery:), and I was at 70kgs until six months back.


    Have been a little busy for two days but maintained at 14 and 12 points
    Today was not my day, went out on the weekend buffet and plunged again , hit 22pts :( :(

    My current weight is 64kgs and want to hit 56kgs, my height is 5.2"

    Lavanya what is your maintanance points? I think as per height it should be around 16 , so try sticking to 12/13 pts. If you want to eat more then definitely
    exercise half hr per day to offset the calories.
    22 point day would wipe
    off benefits of all
    week! So please control next time and on weekends also dont exceed your maintnence points.. All d best!

    Breakfast - plain bread 2 slices - 2pts

    Lunch- bisibellabath with one papad - 5pts

    Evening coffee - 1pt

    Dinner cheerios with soy milk -3pts

    I am increasing my points to 14 from tomorrow, I am feeling tired by the end of the day, may be I need more energy to keep up with my little fellow's pace :):). Well my weight is now 62.8kgs.

    My today's count has been 12 pts

    Morning Coffee - 1 point
    Breakfast - plain bread 2 slices - 2pts

    Lunch- Spinach rice with eggplant curry - 5pts

    Evening coffee - 1pt

    Dinner cheerios with soymilk - 3pts

    Lavanya, I think reason for low energry is skilping dinner or having just cereal or yogurt for dinner. If you control having snacks and have proper dinner like a full balanced meal 13 pts are achievable and you will also have energy.. Just a suggestioon..

    hi pickles, the way of counting calories by points is so good.

    Iam also in. my current weight is 62 Kgs and target weight is 55-57 Kgs.

    My breakfast - half avocado+2 rotis with tomato chutney - 3.5pts
    Lunch - 1 roti+1 apple - 2 Pts
    Snack - cofee with milk and 1 tsp sugar - ??? pts
    Dinner (usually between 5- 8 pm) - 1.5 cup rice+curry+sabji+curd - 3+1+1+1 - 6

    Total - 11.5 + cofee points

    I do exercise for 30 min in treadmill.

    Just throw some light if i will be able to reduce wt with this diet which iam doing.

    welcome to our group..

    coffee with milk and 1 tsp sugar would be around 1 point.
    (1 cup (US measure) 2% milk is 1.5 pts)

    please tell what is your height, and did you calculate your maintenance calories?
    I would recommend keeping goal points as = maintenance pts - 4

    If you do this religiously, you should easily lose 0.4kg per week..

    p.s: its a good idea to take multivitamin daily while doing any sort of calorie cuts..

    starting wt : 66.2kg. current wt: 65.8 kg . goal wt : 60 kg.
    maintenance points : 17.5 , goal pts : 13


    My lowest on this cycle was 65.5 .
    I gained 0.3kg weight because I ate over my maintenance for a few days :(
    ah well.. let me get back on track now.

    my day today :

    breakfast - 1 cup milk with chocolate powder : 2 pts
    2 slices bread with slight butter : 2 pts

    lunch : sandwich from store : 5 pts
    coke zero : 0 pts :)

    dinner : home made hakka noodles : 5 pts

    total : 14 pts.
