Need gift suggestions for Teens functions

    Hello,

    Please suggest some appropriate gifts for teenage boys and girls, for various teen-age milestone functions like school or college graduation, arangetram, upanayam etc. I want to gift something useful/thoughtful to them directly to mark the occasion, not handover some money, giftcard which will go to parents pocket or not be so memorable.

    I have always given money to teenagers as its hard to tell what they like. I have asked moms in advance if there is a particular store they like and then I will buy gc for that store for them. Unless you know the kids really well and are quite close to them I would not buy personal items as its highly likely that it will get tossed on a side.

    Hi, I gave a wrist watch ,leather wallet to my boy when he graduated from school as a gift. For college bound students you can give what they will use.For example, gc of sub way restaurants. For upanayanam you can give them tablets like technology if it fits into your budget.

    I gave GC/ money earlier but I thought this time I will put some thought into it. I dont want to give personal items either. Problem is I dont know the kids well, if I did I would know exactly what to buy them! :). I am looking for generic suggestions for teenaged boys and girls. They all have lots of electronic devices so dont want to do that.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the suggestions. Wallet/subway GC are good ideas for boys. Their own parents will probably give wristwatch as per their choice, just like you did. What about books? Can you suggest any good inspiring books for that age? All the kids nowadays have plenty of electronics so dont want to give that.

    Books is a good idea if they read......lots of teenage boys don't. Again depends what genre they read.

    Hi, books are great ! If you are an avid reader that's fine. Otherwise it is not. You can give amazon gcs for buying anything they want. In college they need lots of text books.
