This is the reason the c-section rates are high in India. Who on earth said pushing a 3.5+ kg baby is difficult? A lot of women have even pushed a 4 kg baby. Our bodies are made to handle this. Unless there is a complication with baby position/fetal distress or some serious medical condition, I would never accept to be operated juz bcoz my baby is big.

I am 5 1" and had both my kids were well over 8 lbs, I had forceps for the first , both were normal delivery and I was never told to go for a C section. I did have stitches due to tear. But all in all it went well.

@ramya: Yes what you said is correct! Here they(doc) just want to finish their duty of taking out of baby safely without much effort and risk on their side, almost i have seen everywhere the same mentality...Only few gives time and decide, mine is still not acceptable reason for their option on csec (big head, baby is in stress !?!?, swallowed her own motion >! etc), but still i believed it to be safe for me coz it just happened with Baba's blessings...yes it was like God's choice for me which i accepted few days later....

@gayathri??: From my opinion, it is always good not to think so much on anything, pray God for your best....everything will be fine.

May be you are right Ramya. Dr's here dont want to take chance , but not all are like that, The one I am visiting didnt push me for C-section even though I weighted 120kgs and the baby was 3.5kgs. She tried for normal and did normal for me.
Today when I am visiting her for my 2nd preg she herself is shocked. She thinks it was c-section (coz of my weight).

    Hi Whitelight...

    Here goes my birth story.
We reached hospital at 6 am. Finished the documentation.
I was admitted into a room and prepared for surgery. All injections were bearable.
The catheter was inserted and i was felling to pee frequently though with the bag I felt I wanted to go to loo and then only pee laugh1smiley.this procedure only irritated me most.
Then I was taken into OT.The whole feel made me scared, I got reminded of mom very much I asked for her blessings.I was thinking I thought I was brave as my mom, but I realized I wasn't so much. Then They made me sit to give anesthesia, it was like a prick initially and later I felt the medicine go, nothing too unbearable.Just for that moment a bit painful.I was made to lie down, and they said I full numb no sensation below hips/funny feeling of not havinglegs. As they said I started to feel numbness.
My DH was allowed inside he was wearing the scrubs.
Anesthesiologist was asking me time to time How i felt. I was like now numbness now nosensation. And I said One way I feel I am floating in some swimming pool without any weight after 9 months of time, I am liking it I said.[IMG]
All the Doc's laughed and said we need to record it.First time someone likes anesthesia.

I really loved the doc and anesthesiologist every step they were guiding me.
Doc asked me Gae3 which baby you want?I said any baby fine Doc first kid right?
They told DH see your baby is coming. And I heard the sweetest cry of my baby.
I eagerly asked Doc is baby out she is like whoa..wait up dear your baby is big baby.
And lo within seconds I heard another loud cry.Doc was like "IT IS A BABY BOY"[IMG]

I was like wow...I eagerly asked Doc, whats his height?
Doc whaatsmiley Ha? Salman Khan she said.[IMG] Everyone laughed in the OT.
My doc was too cool .They made me feel in OT as if I was in some coffee shop.

The magical moment was when they brought my baby wrapped in green looking so pinkish red, who was made to give me a peck on my cheek and I kissed him back.
So magical that I would never forget this moment in my life.
Makes me feel all the 9 months is worth waiting.
    Then
baby was given to pediatrician and DH was told to give good news to everyone.

Wishing all expectant mother a easy and smooth delivery.
