    Hi Friends,

I am currently at 38 weeks.I wanted to know how many of you delivered a 8 lb or 3.6+ kg normally/vaginally.Or were you suggested for a C-Section.what are the problems involved in delivering big baby normally. Please do mention your height as in my case doc feels since I am small frame the issues are more.I am 5.1".
Please note the baby is big genetically, as DH is of big frame and height 5.11
I have had no GD or BP issues throughout my pregnancy(touch wood) and hence the sudden chances of C-section is boggling my mind.

    Gae,

Nothing to worry. My boy was more than 8 pounds and I had normal delivery. My doctor didn't suggest me c section at all.

Big babies are in a way better. They sleep and eat well.

    Hi gae,

Its quite normal for a lady of smaller frame to deliver a baby as big as 9 lb ...vaginally. Sitting ( squatting) on the floor, doing butterfly yoga poses are all helpful in opening up the pelvic bone and making it flexible.
Please do Kegel exercises to prevent the vaginal tissues from tearing much and it also helps in faster recovery.

Vaginal delivery( natural / induced) is always better than c sec.

    Hey op. Do not worry.

Lot of ladies deliver babies who weigh 9 pounds and it's not at all a problem.
One thing is don't worry about tear. Coz it all depends some ladies deliver a big baby with no or minimal tear.

    Hi...

    Thank you for the replies.

    @uma,
    What is your height dear?..
And were u aware beforehand about baby's weight.
Also at 38 weeks baby is at -2 station.
I don't know why my doc is being pro c section.

    Hi Gae3,

Well I had a natural delivery and my boy was 8 pounds and a tall baby. I am only 5.2". In fact he was born almost at the end of my 40th week, and my doc was very encouraging (not an Indian doc ) for a Vaginal delivery. I did have a deep tear, but that is better than a c-section.

    Gae,

I'm tall and definitely not 5.1". But I don't think it matter most. a Friend of mine delivered a 9 lb baby vaginally.

I knew that my boy would be a big baby. Doctor kept up informed during every visit.

Nothing to worry. You'll be fine.

    Hi,

I delivered my boy baby vaginally though he was in transverse position. He was close to 9lbs . It was a big surprise for the doctor as she told me it will be 6 to 7lbs baby. I am tall still I think height is not a matter. It all depends on doctors patience and baby's coordination during labor.
