    Dear GF,
No doubt Vill is lucky. He had a beautiful eyes. The great Acharya led him to the temple himself. And as only a loving Guru can do, he showed God to him.Or rather God showed himself to him.
But we are also lucky, GF. For didn't we enjoy this love story? Didn't we get goose bumps (as Kamla had written) when Renganathar opened his eyes for Villi to see? Didn't we shed tears hearing Ramanujar's prayer to the Lord?
I will try to post the next episode at the earliest. Meanwhile keep thinking of this and yes, please stay tuned.

    love,

    Dear Sundari,
All of us are travelling in the same direction, though there have been varying degrees of distraction in our individual journeys. If Ambal grants us a vision and then we are called on to divert our love towards her, well and good. But if She does not grant a vision, even if we are condemned to live a life of misery and grief a hundred times over, even then it is good. For are we not obeying Her commands in living such a life?
While God's vision is definitely the ultimate ecstasy, we can never get it if we are in a hurry. The first step towards that, as practised by Raghavendra, Annamacharya et al is to accept our life as it is - with all its faults and failures. God will show Herself to us someday.
I'll put it this way.God is constantly showing Her vision to us. But we do not have enough love in our minds to see that.
So when we pray to her next time, let's be categorical,
"Oh, God, please do fill my mind with love that I can see your eternal vision"
The prayer may be granted the next nano second or a million lifetimes later. But that does not matter any way.
    love,

    Dear Vidya,
Ramana Maharshi, Krishna Premi, Prahalada Charithram - even the mention of these names and words is sufficient to make me cry.
Let's cover them one by one. When it comes to Ramana Maharshi, people always read the English writings by Arthur Osborne. But many do not know that Ramana was a great Tamil poet. Two of his poetical works, Upadesa Undiyar and Ullavai Narpathu contain the gist of his teachings. It is easy to read Tamil and if you can grab a book with meanings and explanations it would be wonderful.

The original rendering in Tamil by Maharshi himself is this:
    எண்ணங்களே மனம் யாவினும் நான் என்னும்
    எண்ணமே மூலமாம் உந்தீ பற
    யானா மனமெனல் உந்தீ பற

    Thanks Vidya.

It is a blessing to listen to Krishna Premi. He comes to Madurai during the Chitra Festival and a few years back I had the privilege of listening to him talking about Bhagavatham. His mind is so filled with love for Lord Krishna that he does not even indulge in small talk. I was so impressed by this quality of his that I described about that in my thread on Gossip here in this forum. Later I made that piece a part of my book Nambikkai Tharum Thannambikkai.

You are welcome, Vidya. The next piece will be coming soon. Please stay tuned.

    love,

    Dear GF,

You did wonders to my ego with these words. But in all the stories I write including the novel HE which appeared here in IL, I use the screen play technique. I visualise the scene as a Director would do and then bring all the pieces together with my words. In fact a lady fan of mine wanted to convert my short stories into TV serials. She tried her level best but could not do that. I just thought that my time has not yet come.

Food for thought, GF. Why acids are being thrown, why lovers stab each other, after being together for years? Their love is not for the heart, but for the body. When love is focussed on the body of the beloved, then that becomes like a love for your car, your house or any other property. Naturally any trespass or threatened trespass is opposed with violence. Villi's love for Ponnachi stemmed from his heart and it was so pure that God Himself was impressed by that, that He revealed himself to Villi.

Thanks. I will be only too happy if this is serialised. No better way to spread the message of love. May your words come true.

I have to do that, GF. I am only stealing from my time with her to indulge in writing. The least I owe to her is this. And of course I need not stress again, the compliments are true.

    love,
    Your BF

    Dear Sridhar,
I tasted the story many times over, so the delay in posting. Only one thing comes to mind, absolute bliss. Villi is so lucky to have a wife like Ponni so that he was blessed in having a darshan of the Lord's eyes- not just kadaaikkan but whole eyes of the Lord looked at him. This shows that his pure and undying love for his wife and her beautiful eyes had been very very beneficial for him, he would have been blessed with no janmas thereafter. And the punyam would have been creditted to Ponnachi and she too would have followed her husband to Vaikuntam. How lucky they are!
The Acharya has channelised Villi's love for him to attain eternal bliss.
Now waiting for the next part very eagerly.

    Dear Varloo,
'tasting' is the exact word. Stories like these are like the most delicious chocolates. They have to be tasted several times over.
Villi's upward movement started with his love for Ponnachi. He just did not love her beautiful body. Had it been so, she would have become stale for him soon and he would have started looking for greener pastures elsewhere.
Because his love was selfless, undying, even the Great God decided to show His eyes to him.

Once Villi has tasted God's eyes, and has felt His loving presence, it does not matter, whether he had a future birth, or was born as a bacteria.

    Thanks for the fb, Varloo.
    regards,

    (Quote: "So, swarnalatha, stay tuned.
Incidentally do you know what your name means in Tamil? The exact tamil of your name is Porkodi. Because swarna means gold and latha means a creeper, a kodi. So you are porkodi.
    thanks for the fb.)

    Dear Sir,
Thank you for translation of my name, Yes i knew that and also once used to write like that in my rough note book in school and all friends used to rag me what a correct name ( " aha enna poruttham !" they will sing) because i am not golden colour (but brown) and my chubby size was not at all kodi. But i stopped writing that name after one northindian girl started calling me Por - kodi ( war-flag)

    Dear Sridhar,
The temple-scene (Lord opening His lotus eyes) reminds me of the Netra- Seva in Tirupathi. I had the good fortune of getting Nethra Seva at Tirupathi about 25 years back(I heard about this seva for the 1st time then!) I was carried away by the wonderful Dharshan (in spite of the "Jaragandi" call). If I can call this Supreme Bliss, what can we say about Villi's dharshan..

Swetha was telling me few days back that she would like to dance for songs other than on Muruga, Devi, Natarja..etc. May be she should think about the 4000 paasuram...to choreograph few Padams..

Your writings may inspire her to do so...

    Regards
    USHA

    Dear Usha,
Nice to know about Nethra Seva. That is a perfect unit of measurement for measuring Villi's bliss. If the God-eyes made by humans and sanctified by prayers and mantras could move us, how much great would be the power of the original eyes, and how strong should have been the force of love to open that just to win over one of his millions of devotees?
Swetha's idea of dancing for a paasuram is good. In fact I strongly suggested that my niece (brother's daughter) should dance for one of the paasurams in her Arangetram, which happened in July 2007. But they did not want to take that kind of risk.
Then I made my heroine, Saradha, in the serial HE dance for a paasuram of Kulasekara Azhwar. (please refer episode 4 or episode 6; I have given the paasuram in Tamil) That is a gold mine for Abhinaya, for showing emotions. Swetha can make her audience literally cry, if she takes up such an item.
best of luck. Any suggestion you want in this area, feel free pm me or email me.
    regards,
