This setting is so dreamy! I love their tongues :)

Once I went to an animal safari in Florida and at the giraffes' corner, we had the option to buy some giraffe food (I forgot what it was) and feed them.. I bought some and half stretched my hand hesitantly,.. the giraffe turned towards me and sent forth it's rather long, purplish tongue and grabbed the treat from me, ate happily and moved on to the next person. My husband even clicked a pic at that moment. :)

I remember being surprised at the way it's tongue looked. I later read that the tongue evolved that way to reach for leaves and as protection from thorns.

    Hi deeps,

Lucky U ! got to feel these gorgeous beings and at close quarters too .
I've seen them only at a distance when we went on a safari trip while visiting Nairobi years ago.
If you go to my next post , you'll read about the lovely place they live in .
I meant that to be the first in the series of pics but unfortunately the resulting topsy turvy posts sort of made it appear from bottom first!
What is the latest on the doggie front from your side .Rusty is still with you I hope.

I did see the other post too. Lovely place :)

Rusty is doing well... with the winter drawing to a close, he is getting longer walks, so he is happier :)
