    Hi Team,

I have been married for last one year. Mine was a love marriage and the guy to whom I have been married loves me a lot. Apart from the normal conflicts we do not have any other issues.

My husband is intelligent and has done his MBA from a premier Bschool however is still struggling to make a mark.

I have been working for more than 5 years he started working last year May 2012...well this is because he abandoned his engineering study and then did a distance BA after that MBA. I love him and have supported him in all situations but now I am a little bothered about myself. His 1st job lasted for just a year after which he was asked to leave. Now this is his second job but that also seems to be in mess..

I am very concerned as this is something which i never expected. I am 30 now and need some stability in life I go worried even to plan a child as his career is in a mess. I know i should stand by him and support him which I am doing .....what do i do shall go for a divorce...Please advice..

Unconditional love is a myth, isn't it?

That's right money dictates everything. What if the situation is reversed? The husband is thinking of dumping the wife for not making enough money.:eek:mg:

Many families have children and there is only one income. Is it important to connect his job situation with having a baby? It would need you to continue to work after baby, but so do many women.

Over the years of married life, there will be many ups and downs. Sometimes both do not have a job for a year or two. What then? What about the kid(s) who have already arrived?

If you have a reasonably happy marriage, some savings, the potential to maintain a job yourself, you could plan for a baby if you want to. At the same time, your concern about his job is understandable. Do you worry that it will remain so for many years? Years that are prime in terms of career?

Only helpful responses in a thread is a myth too, isn't it? :)
Come on.. give the thread a chance before throwing wedding vows and gender reversed scenarios at OP.

rather than husband dumping wife for not making enough money, this would be a better example of reversed situation, and this was actually posted here a while back. Husband spends money on wife's medicine studies, shifts to city where she needs to do her residency, and during that they also have a baby. After studies and few years practice, wife says she doesn't want to work any more, even though her student loans still pending.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. Just respond to the OP.

Besides the example you posted is irrelevant

You're concern about his instability is understandable....but thinking of divorce is outrageous!

    Poor husband of yours!!

If he is going through a rough patch, then can't you take it sportingly? Encourage him, stand by him, make him realise his worth, or if there is a deeper issue, then help him overcome it? Or is running away the only solution you can come up with?
