I dont know the nutritional value. But i m feeling filling and my stomach is feeling lite with this food.

I have avoided rice completely and replaced with Wheat rava.

    Procedure to prepare:
    1. Take 3 glass of water and boil it
    2. after some 2 or 3 mins, put 1 glass wheat rava in that
    3. Turn off stove when there is no water.

Rava will be boiled and replace with rice.

I am taking this rava with any type of curry. Sambar suits very well, curd, rasam etc.. I am using just a replacement of rice.

I could not feel more diff b/w rice and this rava.

    Hi Indianguy,

Hope your weight loss journey goes well..and How are you...?

I was under some problem and could reply ur pms. Doing now and feeling great..

I am trying for 10 days and as of now i m not tempted for rice. Dietician gave me free rice diet and asked to eat 3 chapathis for lunch.

The same i have replaced with this wheat rava. I googled and it is proved that calories are less for wheat comparatively and fiber is more. Key in your suggestions too..How many kgs reduced so far...?

The nutritional values (amount of carbs etc) are very similar if you compare semolina and white rice. Better option would be brown rice, chickpeas or potatoes (in moderation).

    Hi,
I too agree, avoiding rice is difficult.
We can also slowly switch over to Red rice (less glycemic-index), in addition to that, as Lavanya, mentioned wheat rava, Jowar, Pearl Millet, Samai, Kuthiravali... can be viable alternatives.
    Happy eating with more options.

every one.. Go for millets.. You can cook same as rice.. and it will be small rava kind..(Thinai, saamai..) and eat with any kind of curries... it has less corbohydrates then rice and Wheat.. just google nutrional values of millets..

I tried brown rice. Seeing the rice it looks like basmathi, once u cooked it will be different. The procedure is given on the pack itself. I felt vomitting after eating 3 days and could not continue.

As muthuswathi said, other grains also we can try. Since it is easy to cook and eat i m doing as of now.

Soon need to find other alternatives..I got the same satisfaction as eating rice, that is the only adv with this. Hope this helps.
