Everytime my husband has a party in his work place, he would attend the party and come back and tells me everyone came with their wives except for me. All asked about you. I just dont understand why he didnt invite me for the party and why is he complaining. Is he feeling not good in taking me with hom to the party. What is he trying to say? Pl. tell me, im feeling v bad. And what should i do? Is he just trying to make me feel bad . I really dont understand

If you are in the US, it is very rare that there would be a workplace social event without specific details such as this spelled out in the invitation (spouse, dress code, children welcome or not, and so on).

I agree with other posters that asking your husband would be the quickest way to solve your problem. To be honest, I don't really understand how or why you are asking here.

But I will soldier on. What my husband does is he forwards the invitation to me, I check the calendar, tell him what I think (Maybe we should go, it was kind of fun last year), he tells me what he thinks (What do you mean, kind of fun? Mr X trapped you in a corner for 45 minutes and told you his whole life story, remember?) we half-heartedly look around for a babysitter, I remind him to RSVP before the deadline, he tells me he can't RSVP until we make up our minds... and then we end up staying in, in our pajamas, drinking and watching a movie on TV like pensioners (albeit extremely self-satisfied pensioners).

Moral of the story: if you want to go, tell him to send you all invitations in the future. If he doesn't agree to do this, then there's something fishy going on here.

Oh wow! My husband and I aren't the only ones discussing such invitations sincerely in detail, before deciding to do what you have stated. Yay!
    :cheers

Indu, I vote for asking your husband directly too.

Should i insist in future that i would accompany, or should i not wait for him to say i would like you to come with me for the party.
