Cycle!

Happy to receive a feedback from you Racr. And thanks for the many likes that you gave to my posts / responses. There are always a lot of memories associated with few things and the beauty is that each of us have a different one there, though we might have been there in the same place at the same time. And the value for money - Ah! It hurts! No value for even a 500 rupee note these days. And you need one of it to buy vegetables for a week. Of course what's more to add is that, there is no value for many of the old timers and those golden virtues too.

Very glad to know about your childhood experiences associated with cycles. Yes, I have to admit that I had tougher time learning it and find my kid doing it all so easy these days though his is a smaller one and he starts at an age, where anything is possible [referring to that mindset and the attitude that nothing is impossible]. I know that you have been a mentor here, so no surprises in seeing a start student learning it in first attempt. Kudos to both of you. And to me, it seems that you practised non-violence at the age of around 14 perhaps?

It is my turn to say "Thank you!", LuckyMe, for a beautiful feedback. I am very happy to read about your early achievement and felt sad too, knowing that you lost that first cycle of yours! Whoa! Stitching in the palm and fasting at that age? That would have melted all the resolve that your parents had then! And shows the intensity of your desire too.

Thanks a lot for such a nice feedback and a ton of appreciation KarthigaS. Happy to receive a first from you here. Besides, happy to know about your experience too. Cycling was such a common pastime then that almost all of us would have gone through that phase [cycle!] and have definitely some fun moments to share. And perhaps those moments when we were more confident about ourselves, right from learning to sit, stand, run and get used to something new, are unforgettable.

Coming to your praise, I feel a bit shy. Life is all about finding a meaning for me, every now and then. In what is seen as mundane set of tasks, lie our own gems, covered a bit. And if you unravel them, you find it lot more interesting. Thats my point of view. I should honestly admit that I am only trying this of late and finding something that would last - for long.

Coming to your question on titles, I intended to keep it straight and simple, and not often I get success in that. ArunaRC has already written to me more than twice about choosing a right title, in the Poems section. Nowadays, I try and keep something that hints what it is all about and if possible, adds another angle, that I always strive to keep along with the main course of narration, which very few pick up. In this thread, the heading and the narration also talks about the cycle of events, as I grew up. And not all my titles are one worded. There are many which may not fit this too.

And writing verses come easy for me [though it might always be along the similar lines and boring to read, which I admit]. Thats why I am posting a lot in Poetry section [both tamil and english]. When I respond to someone's post, I keep it closer to their narration and at times try adding a point or two. Nothing more. Thanks again for your detailed appreciation KarthigaS. -rgs
