Hello October 2008 Mommies!!

Thanks Vnbaby for responding. I wanted her to come in 9th month but I heard some people deliver in 7th month itself. Maybe I'll tell her to come in August then. My pregnancy is not great though. First 3 months i suffered from severe nausea and vomitings. I'm still vomiting but not that much. The terrible thing is my allergies. I thought it was just cold but my doctor confirmed last week it was allergy. She took blood test to find out what I'm allergic to. I will get those results in 2-3 days. I'm thinking it might be milk so i cut down all dairy products. Now my runny nose is better but my sinus headaches are worse. Every morning I wake up with a headache and it stays almost all day. Because I'm still in 16th week my doctor couldn't give me antibiotics or any medicines all she gave me was nasal spray. I hope my allergies doesn't hurt my baby. I'm gonna visit by gyn tomorrow and check if she couldn't prescribe me something for headaches. I sure hope someone has patience to read my whole story Big Laugh

I'm hanging in there counting everyday... I'm not too listless to get it over with as I know something ending only is the beginning of something else!! So let's see how things go. With regard to tests the last one done was for Strep B culture. As far as I know the next ones will be only on admission to the hospital. And with regard to internal exams, it depends on each doc and their patient as to when they would start doing it and how frequently. The examination itself WILL NOT trigger labor as labor is much more complex than a simple ultrasound probe triggering it. So not to worry. This exam gives us better estimate of effacement of cervix and dialation which are indicative of how soon you can go into labor. Once again all these are estimates. Normally your baby will NOT come out until he/she is mature!

My doc hasn't done the ultrasound yet (supposedly in 38 or 39 weeks). I'm sure it will be a little bit uncomfortable but the exam itself is not a threat to you or your baby. Remember the fact that nowadays they want couples to have sex even until the very last week if you can because the male hormones contain compounds which soften the cervix, which is essential for vaginal births... so if you are allowed to have sex then you can definitely have internal exams without any complications.

Hope your tooth ache is better now. With regard to test results - your doc office always gets it within 1 or 2 days depending on what they are testing - so you can call your doc office and leave a message for the nurse asking for the results. I ask them within couple of days so that way I don't have to be in limbo.
Sleeping on the sides though is good for the mom, is not always possible. My baby doesn't like me to sleep on the side 'coz it limits the space and pushes him to one side - so i don't completely lay on my side and keeping the head rest elevated helps with breathing 'coz the baby pushes on the diaphragm.
Some one has really scared you and given some weird idea about internal exams - they DON'T and CAN'T insert a whole hand!! The maximum is one or two fingers - similar to how they do pelvic exams - except now they won't push on your pelvis but just measure dialation - also scopic instruments can be used to do some exams - once again these will be less than 2 fingers wide. Remember not to believe all the horror stories everyone tells you - this is a natural phenomenon and so you should just rest assured that alls well.
With regard to your EDD question to smoothie - the number of weeks can be more or less depending on which day of the cycle they conceived and how long their cycle is. So both of you can potentially deliver on the same day though you are on different weeks of gestation.

I am new to this forum. My EDD is Oct, 10th. I stay in Texas. I am in my 19th week now. Though I was seeing the forum from long time, I could not register and participate.

During my first trimister, I did not have any symptoms and even now I dont have any. I work during the weekdays (8AM to 6PM) and it is busy work really. My boss and colleagues are after me to make sure that I work. I come home, cook, eat and sleep. Daily do pooja for 1 hour. I changed job during my first trimester as my boss died and was in tension to find another job. I am on independent visa and had no time to think about baby. All the time till now went about job search, visa. I could just make doctor visits, take vitamin tablets and drink lot of water.

Next week I have an ultrasound and I hope everything will be fine.

I am happy to join this forum especially october mummies.

Ya i know how hard it is to manage both work and home ans especially need to take care yourselves.... i hope you are doing good too....

Congratulations on ur pregnancy.....
Its really very exciting when u see ur mom coming to u at this moment.... snce ur EDD is oct-15 th, its really good if she comes to u around mid of august like wise...so tht ur mom can stay more months after ur delivery which vl be really helpful for u also...

my EDD is on Oct-13th. If my parents vl get visa, then i vl definately ask them to come around august.
