Just not able to stitck to anything. I need to DESPERATELY lose wt. So I'm going to start GM tomo. I did it way back in 2010 but could complete only 5 days but lost 3 kgs in that time. I feel irritable without carbs............so I need a lot of strength and support from you all. Thanks in advance!

Don't feel depressed. Don't be in a hurry. Aim for small goals, maximum half Kg in a week. Nothing is impossible. If you have will power & commitment everything will be possible. Good luck..

Go lap swimming a half hour a day. In a few months you will have the body of a goddess without dieting.

    shruti,

I think it is not about you being struck or not able to lose weight. it is more about commitment and consistency.

I know you have two kids and managing them and concentrating on self is difficult but try better now than repent later.

you have this amazing groups here to push you that wee bit. join one where you are comfortable and will feel answerable or will not get angry if questioned.

i know you would think, she has lost weight that is why she is giving this fb, no dear, i could identfy myself with what you are going through now. i used to stop half way through my goals, because of the gain or issues and i had health issues that would be back to back on my head that i could not do anything much.

Stop looking for these crash diets, once you do it, twice you do it, your body cells also identify with the methodology and they become more stubborn. what was easier earlier becomes double time tougher the next time. you need to push your self 3x/4x times more than the first time.

the best way after a age is to reduce healthy, allow your body to accept the loss, understand and maintain and then lose again. this way you also get into the habit of being conscious of any weight gain that is happening. we almost never notice the piling until in happened to alarm the doctor or our weight reading.

being armed with knowledge of your body, more options to look into, the motivation, committment and consistency will help you to lose those kgs better than a crash diet like gm diet.

all the best..now stop feeling depressed. look at your two kids, and think, i would like to be playing hoops with my daughter soon, i would like to cycle down to school along with them. i would like to run and win a race at the school (parents race yaar)..motivate yourself..

for me the most important motivation was to be strong, being healthier and reducing the number of times i was falling sick..succeeded to a certain extent.

    Hi Shruthi,
    My 2cents:my2cents

    1. Do not jump on to a diet from regular eating all of a sudden. This will leave you with cravings. You might complete the diet successfully. But a week or month down the line you might start eating junk/processed foods again.
(As Shanthi suggested I am also of the opinion of not to take any crash diets-this should be a lifestyle change.Stick to diets only those you think you can follow through your life.Eating healthy foods moderately is the Key)
2.Cut out processed/junk food slowly.Moderate your food intake.
3.Reduce your sugar intake. And a month or so after cut it out from your diet.
4.Stay away from maida.Try to replace with wheat for recipes using maida.
5.Even if you cant do 30minutes workouts daily-try to get 2 15minutes workouts.
15minutes high intensity workouts done twice a day really helps you than zero workout.
6.Go through a lot of fitness/workout/healthy eating blogs. This will helps us in eating and living healthy.Read a lot of fitness quotes.
7.If you can ,take small meals regularly than large meals.
8.Do not stress yourself out, this wont help in losing weight. Use work outs as stress busters.

    I second amihere...

Dont take drastic step now...Go slowly and healthy ...

    1. Drink lots of water min.. 3-4 litres
    2. No sugar
    3. No maida..
    4. Reduce oil
    5. 30 Min walk daily
    6. Portion control

Follow this for one month .. and you will see difference..
Then from jan .. start with little more strict diet ..All the best , we are here to motivate you ...
Also start posting your diet and plan for 1 month .. else write down some where.. You will see the difference....
