I purchased saffron from lapakshi stores (govt. handicraft store) with the name balaji, thinking that there will not be any impurity in it. When I put it in water the water has turned red and when in milk into pink. but the strands when put in water are light red even after an hour. I think saffron when added to milk should turn to yellow or orange.so worried if I can use it for my pregnant daughter or not
    waiting for ur suggestions

Though it pertains to period 2013 , yet visitors would be curious to know what happened later. Could you establish about its purity or otherwise and if it was adulterated or artificially dyed yarn. The best place for betal nuts, raisins, cashews & Kashmiri saffron is in Parrys at chennai. The shop name am unable to recall but they are main dealers for Rasika Lal betal scented nuts. It may be close to hotel Arya Bhavan. And close to to flower bazaar police station end. Nuts & spices all branches in chennai have original kesar.
