    Hi Radhika!!

Radhika yeahhh its a loooong time since we spoke. Good to see you are quite active in posting here on ILs, that is so great Computer Typing. I always think after reading some post/thread that I should post a reply but dont have enough energy to type daily.

My doctor hasnt prescribed me Iron, Calcium yet she said she will when my nausea will subside completely. Wow you are going to your mom's place for delivery. Then you can enjoy moms food and care once again :cool2:. What else one can ask for when she is pregnant. Are you feeling some baby movements now, you are 2-3 weeks ahead of me. In my last visit to doc she was asking me if I feel something, then she said herself that it might be too early to feel movements

Tomorrow I am going to visit doctor and she is going to take my blood for AFP screening. Are they doing it in India also these days? Here doctors test you for sooo many things sometimes it is really annoying Witsend for me because till results come you get sooo worried that even if results come out negative your worries can cause real trouble to your baby because you keep thinking about so many different and weird diseases :crazy. Though these tests are good but I equally believe in power of negative thoughts.

    Take care

    Hi Chitti!!

How are you doing?? How your pregnancy is treating you.......do you have nausea and fatigue or just doing great??

Thanks for your motivating words Chitti. Actually I feel very excited in my visits to doctor when her assistant takes my urine sample, BP, my weight, or doctor examine me like last time she checked baby's heart beats. But the time she shows me those needles I gets really scared though injections dont hurt so much. But I think its psychological to be scared with very glance of needles bonk.

Wow you seen your baby that must be really thrilling but why my doctor is not doing another scan of mine. I had one when I was 6 weeks pregnant. I also want to see my baby :goodidea:. You are in which week now? Everybody like my mom, my MIL and even my doctor is asking me these days if I feel something inside my womb, so do you feel something? I am not feeling anything and I think its too early to feel baby movements. Dont you think so?

Of course I will surf net in India I cant live without internet. And it will be the only shakehead one way of seeing my husband when I shall be in India.

Its Ok if you cant surf that frequently just be in touch and keep us informed about yourself.

    Take care

    Thanks for your reply Vnbaby.
I am doing just fine. Actually i was using vomiting tablets everyday, so that is the reason i am not suffering much with the nausea. my doctor suggested me to take those until 14/15th week. i need to stop taking them...
Since from 2 weeks i am feeling to eat something and i am far better compared to my 1st trimester. now i am on my 15th week. U know wht, i am not yet feeling my baby's movements...ya may be around 5th month or so vl feel baby, i guess.

Coming to screening test, the ones that i took on my 12 week were not mandatory one. tht one is optional, either v could take the test or not its up to us. so i chose to take those. its nothing actually, just extra tests..even my frndz told me they haven't taken such test.
Wht abt u... could u able to feel eating/taking any kind of food.r u Non-vegetarian/veg?...
sometimes, during night, i am feeling disturbed sleep, i dnt know y....r u feeling anything like tht?

    Take Care Yourself...
    Chitti....

    wht else....

    Hi V n baby,
So when are you planning to go to India? I saw your post in May moms - I wanted to tell you about the old wives tale you asked - everyone I meet says you glow if you have a boy but then again they already know what gender my baby is - so its just some belief people have. With my cousin they don't know the gender of her baby (its a boy) but people tell her you look good and so you are having a girl!! We all just laugh it off...
Are you feeling better nowadays? Hope you are relaxing and resting well.

Sorry V n baby, I missed your replies to my post. I do not hold a M.D. degree if that's what you are asking. But I graduated with a Ph.D in Physiology before I switched careers from being a dietetian. Anyway I am generally into health sciences and try to keep myself updated with different info as I like to be informed though ignorance is bliss in most scenarios. :) Thanks for appreciating my responses. Bow

It does get a bit more difficult to move around later in pregnancy - weight is not the reason in my case... its the baby pushing on the diaphragm and progesterone which makes it difficult to breathe as easily. So I am just trying to take things easy and do smaller amount of stuff every now and then. Also as the pelvis tries to remodel to fit the baby lower, one starts to get new aches and pains. I've always had back aches from the 1st trimester so I try to get some back exercises but its all a part of the game.

With regard to sleep, from 6th month I get up every 4 hours to adjust to the position of the baby - ofcourse the baby is most active once I go to bed. Its also nature's way to prepare the moms for untimely wakings after the baby arrives. Right now I don't feel any one single emotion like frightened or happy etc, its kind of like a mixture - I try not to dwell on it for long and divert my attention as there's only so many things that you can control. What's the point of fretting about something so far beyond our reach???

Anyway this too shall pass - so just hang in there and things will roll along. I read your note about onions - well I had that issue too - I guess because its one of the more potent smelling veggie in our cuisine. But later my nausea still continued but not to the extent that I cannot tolerate it - so now I add it in my foods but just not a lot. There are other foods that have that effect on me too, so I try to mask the flavor or use it in a different combination.

Keep us posted about your blood work results - my sure it will be just fine. AFP screening is just routine test. One of the last ones will be glucose test, after that you'll have blood work only at the time of delivery. Sorry for the really long response.

    Hi Lavanya!

Its so good to receive you long response as I really like long repliesComputer Typing(you must have noticed that my replies are always long I try to cut them short but it is kinda tough for mebonk).

Yes my nausea is still continuing and its not only onions it could be anything with strong smell like garlic, ginger anything that can make me nauseous. Now the problem is I am losing weight every month, :-( in March when my docs assistant weighed me I lost 4 lbs this time I lost 2.5 lbs. Everybody in India my parents, in-laws are worried about me they are now forcing me to reach India as soon as possible but I know how difficult its going to be for both of us(me and DH) to stay away from each other :frown: specially now when I am pregnant. This decision was really really tough for me but I have to go for the sake of my baby's and my health. My DH poor fellow he will be here all alone thats why I want to leave as late as possible so I am planning to leave in 1st week of July but it also depends upon availability of tickets.

Good to know about your profession Its quite interesting, isnt it? I used to work in India and here I am just managing home. I am also worried about my career as I am not doing anything since a year now which is lowering my market value Witsend. And now when baby is coming I dont know how I am going to manage family and my career. Sometimes this thought makes me real worried.

Thanks for sharing your last months experiences with us. Now I know what to expect:crazy.

    Take care

    Hi V n baby,
Try to take things easy - do not worry about career and home and all the juggling... I just have a "priority list" in my head and do reality checks every so often. You have limited time and resource and you just have to make the best of it - no point regretting the past or worrying about the future. There are many people who meet me worry about my career and my life goals and future plans - all I tell them is I take one day at a time - we'll see how things shape up after the baby arrives. We cannot build on something that doesn't even exist yet, so just have patience - everything has a way of working itself out.

With regard to weight loss, I lost 8 lbs in total but you'll always find a way to eat something to keep you healthy. Weight gain is not a big deal - remember your baby will always get what it needs - better to be on the lower end of the scale than higher! Also as long as the ob doesn't think its hurting your baby, you are just fine. Think of all the women in 3rd world countries and poverty/famine stricken places who still manage to give birth to normal babies. Think positive and have hope. I still cannot tolerate ginger too but when you keep experimenting you'll find a dish that has everything you need and one that you can tolerate too. Parents have a knack to worry themselves sick about EVERYTHING - so take things with a grain of salt, so to say! In that sense its kindda easier for me since they are 8000 miles away - it would drive me plain crazy if someone was running behind me telling me how things had to be done and how much they are worried about me!! :bang

    Hi Lavanya!!

Somehow your words are always soothing to me Chillout!. You are right about career n all, its just that I am not used to of sitting at home for such a long time(a year) and what bugging me is it going to be much more than that:crazy.

You are very true about parents too and you know I was really a pampered kid. I used to control my parents and said things to them that I should never ever said to them (I regret it so much now that I cry so bad sometimes) but even then they are always there for me. During my first trimester when I was really really sick with fatigue and nausea I realised the pain and problems my parents must have felt during pregnancy, delivery, and in raising me. First time I realised how it feels like to be a parent. So now I am really missing them and missing their extra caring and worrying nature bonk.

Tell me about yourself how are you feeling now. Is there any scan/test left or all are over by now. One morething I want to know, I heard(and read on internet and also some ILs posts I read) that doctors check you internally in your last week, according to some its really painful and triggers labour pains, is it true:shaking:.

    Take care

    Hi Smoothie!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy and a warm welcome to October mommies club:welcome .

So how your pregnancy is treating you. Do you have nausea/fatigue or you are doing just fine. You can share your experiences, worries, doubt here and we will all discuss and share our experiences to make you feel better. We are here to help each other Bowand mentally support each other .

I am also in my 18th week but still have nausea and resulted fatigue. Your EDD is quite close to mine I am due on 11th Oct :cool2:.

Great your mom is coming to take care of yourself. According to me you shall need her most during your last month i.e. 9th month and after your delivery till the time you shall feel confident enough to take care of yourself, family and new born baby. If she can come in August that would be really great.

Take care and keep us informed about yourself and baby Computer Typing.
