Today I made two items with Karela after frying it One is with moongdal with Karela and another karela with gravy For karela with moong dal. I boiled the moong dal . Fried tomato, if you want u can fry onions too.Then grinded the moong dal after it was cool, with kadi patha, coriander leaves little, sambhar powde.the fried karelas and coconut. Then boiled it again after adding water After boiling , gave tadka in oil with mustardseeds, lg powder and kadi patha For karela gravy. I grinded tomato(onion can also be added after frying) fried til, dhania jeera powder,ginger, red chilly, kadi patha and coriander leaves and in oil fried the paste adding little waterathen added the karela fried and heated for sometime,later added coriander leavesa
*drools* I absolutely love the bitter taste of karela, but the only recipe I've tried so far is the usual stuffed karela fry. Thank you so much Viji Ma for these two wonderful new ( for me ) recipes. I would like to make them for my mom tonight, she'll be very pleased, I think...all credit to you.
Looks yummy and fell like eating it with rice. Karela is my favourite. When in hurry in morning school time i usually put karela along with all powders turmeric chilli daniya jeera amchur sugar and a spoon of tomato puree and cover and cook on high in microwave for 7 min . And its ready without any bitterness.
