Reverse Painting is a technique of glass painting. Nowdays, there are many kits available in the same. All you need to do is to buy a kit. The picture is printed in that. Use fabric, oil, glass, pearl, posters colours to paint them in detail. If you are doing a reverse glass tanjore painting - u need to use the special paints called as stone colours to give the stone effect. It is simple, but quite time consuming. all materials are available at Raja Stores, T Nagar. At a initial level, you will hav to shell out about 550 rs. 300 for the picture kit and about 250 for the colours and good brushes. The finished product looks amazing, and when framed it can be sold at good prices and also makes as great gifts. I have done many and gifted and also kept at home - thought not keen on selling them!!

    Hai Jeena
The instructions given by Archana is correct.
The reversed Glass Painting is to be done on the back side of the Painted picture. But to fill up the outline first make it dry and then give painting to the figure which you choose. The stone colours should be given at the appropriate places and that should also dry. It will take one or two days to complele the whole picture.

Thank you, Archana. I have just bought a kit like the one you say from Nanganallur. But it is very small..and I think it will be quite a challenge for a beginner (I'm a beginner). Can we get kits with bigger glasses? if so, pl let me know the adddress of Raja stores in T.Nagar. Thanks,

    Shyamii

    Hi,

You can get bigger designed glasses in different shapes.

The Raja store is in the Ranganathan street, next to Textile india.

I think this would help you
