Hi Madhu, thank you for your response..yes,a lot of ladies here have bought stitch magic.I too wanted that one but the dealer I went to,told me that it is always better to buy machines from companies that manufacture sewing machines traditionally.Usha apparently only imports, does not manufacture.so as per my dealer,if any problems, then parts will be available and also genuine..

Don't know what to do now, utterly confused.Am going to look into singer models as well, then decide which one to buy.although, personally I did like the Brother DS 140..it is awesome..

As a brand name I used Usha and was happy with it. I would recomment Usha, model should be selected on what you plan to stitch. I dont use lot of fancy stitches

    Hi Vinci,

I m also planning to buy a sewing machine. I m quite confused between usha allure and viking e10.
I guess I also went to the same dealer in lakdi ka pul where he suggested viking and brother.
Why didn't u buy the viking any specific reason?
I have budget not more than 10k, as I m new to stitching not sure how long I ll use it.
I m working as we'll but when I c nice things can be made I really feel like stitching.
And other than that I m not so happy with the tailors.please reply soon as today is holiday and I can buy v easily

Can u suggest which one is better?

    Hi Divya2013,

I was not particularly impressed with the viking they had then,,they suggested another, costlier model of viking too to me, but did not have it in the store for me to try it out. They did have Brother DS 140 and they showed me the functions extensively. That is the reason I chose Brother, not viking.I wanted to make sure that I get what I see..

Since you say that you are a beginner, and not investing more than 10K, I suggest you buy the viking one(I think it was theE10 I saw).If not, I think they also have singer..

I am not very impressed by Usha..had a really tough time with Usha fashion stitch..but that said, there are a lot of ladies here who have bought Usha Allure too,so maybe you can go over once and see what you like before deciding to buy.BTW,won;t the store be closed today since its Mayday?

    Hi

Thanks for such a quick reply. I never expected it to be so quick. I called up the usha store this morning, they were open. I think the viking dealer is closed today as nobody is lifting there.
I have seen the machines earlier just a little confused as viking has more stitch options at that price, but usha is quite a popular name so servicing, etc might be easy.
