It happens only at In-laws's house

    Hi All,
    Lets add up some more humour here. Lets list out few crazy things which only our dearest MILs can make it happen in their house all alone
    and obviously we DIL bakaras find it irritating. Let me start with mine
    1) Coconuts to be broken only by men. Women should not do it.
    2) Eat 6 kilos of OIL every month and say we consume less oil
    3)Eating idli, upma prepared 4-5 days back storing in fridge
    4)Always need to follow all protocol rather than being informal at home
    5) Prepare all the spices at home(Jeera powder, fenugreek powder etc) rather than getting readymade packs
    Many more to list. Will update as and when I remember

    Ghar ke 'Bahu' has to touch feets of MIL and FIL. that too everyday morning??? OK i understand respect...but reach down n touch their feets everyday??
    its ok if 'jawai' does not do that to his inlaws..WTH??

    I had to laugh at these two points - because it happens at my place!
    I cannot break coconuts - I never get it right, so I always ask my DH to do it :)

    And I prepare all the powders at home myself - dhania powder, jeera powder, methi powder, pepper powder, red chilli powder, tea masala podi, idli podi, til podi, sambar podi, rasam podi, even haldi, I get it done through a known person using dried turmeric and also chyavanprash for my kid, I do it myself... so I really found it funny that it happens only with inlaws (I dont have MIL)!!

    1. on every festival (even pooja time is in the morning)...pooja will happen only after 2:00 PM...
    2. on diwali all the dry snacks will be in steel dabbas in a separate room....there will be atleast 50 dabbas...now if some guest are there....open every dabba and see what is inside ....worst my MIL changes dabbas everyday....today laddu is in dabba 1, next day laddu will be in dabbba 10...and all diwali days she spent in that dabba room...changing dabba of snacks...and look very busy to the viewers...people brought one dabba of sweets...now she will make 2 dabba out of 1 and send it to 2 people :)...sometimes her whole life starts looking like a dabba to me...I want to give her a degree MDA - Master of dabba administration
    2. vegetables should be eaten like chutney...
    3. food cooked beofre 7 days is not stale at all...
    4. touch feet of evry aira gaira nathu khaira...(which i stopped now)
    5. no place to sit n relax...
    6. to many lizards in the house
    7. unhygenic toilets.
    8. unhygenic beddings.
    9. no drinking water in the kitchen...

    oh,my fav topic:).........nothing my inlaws do suits me:hide:........i have this complaining attitude towards them(but i comalin to my hubby only)

    its really blessing I meet them just for few days annually...........my pet peeves are

    1.waking at 4.00 am & immediately taking bath(even in chilly cold winters)

    2.not taling breakfast till 10.00 pm & then also eating leftovers(chappatis & dal
    :rant)

    3.washing vegetables after chopping

    4.switching off the fans & lights everytime you leave a room


    I need to stop otherwise I will continue specially today as I am annoyed with something they said on phone(amazing how someone sitting thousands of miles away can spoil your mood for days:bonk)

    hahahaha.. another gud one....

    - Eat JUNK food
    - Eat regular food like Snacks but Snacks as Lunch and Dinner.
    - DIL to get up ASAP with daybreak.. prepare tea, breakfast etc etc.. all the work shud be finished tip-toed.... others are so opressed and exploited that they need to sleep until 10 am every morning.
    - Don't visit any temple. GOD doesn't listen to anyone... we're GODs worship us.
    - When you visit their home.. they can use any of their 2 bathrooms... however when they visit you.. you can't USE the one they USE... even if YOURs is under repairs... u still need to use that.. hence wait or request the labourers to leave.
    - When you visit them in their house... you cook.. when they visit you .. you Cook.

    - MIL/SIL inlaws banned from visit or more like US VISA or visit..... but since they have this US VISA for themselves... they can enter in anyone's home.. no check needed.... and be treated like GODs.
    - If something happens to MIL/ SILs child.. even a scratch .. the person is fit to be CRUCIFIED instantly... if something happens to DILs child... first lie n deny... observe her... if she's not crucifying you... then put the blame on her.

    Its Ok if DH breaks the coconut incase if we cannot properly, but MIL laid rule is women should not.
    Few more
    1)White pumpkin should not be chopped directly by women. It should be broken by men (same coconut rule here)
    2)Curries are always fries. No boiled vegetable will go into the curry
    3) Tamarind is foridden incase tomatoes are used ( But I dont care i do it in my own style :thumbsup)
    4)Domex floor cleaner should not be used for floor cleaning. Only Lizol is allowed (Then why the hell we should get domex ).
    5) Every corner of the room should be swept every day, moving all chairs and sofas apart no matter how big the house (Few maids refused to do this saying that it can be done only once in a week and this is not the only house for their livelihood:rant).

    Yet they are more to come. Please let me recollect
