I have severe knee pain during that time of the month (literally couldn't even stand for few minutes, couldn't sleep at night --the pain is very severe) I have thyroid problem and taking medication for that. I don't know whether this is related to thyroid problem or something else. Here doctors couldn't find out why I get this severe pain only during my menstural cycle(couple of days before and couple of days after)

thinking of going to ayurvedic treatment in india. Any suggestions ladies?

    thx,
    jay

    Hi,
Even I used to experince similar knee pain for couple of months during my periods time (just before the start of periods). It is due to harmonal changes.
Even I have thyroid problem. If you have thyroid, it leads to joint pain, muscle pain etc. So don't worry. Relax yourself.
See for couple of more months, if pain persists then go to doctor.

Please check with the doctors first.
They might give you some physical therapy to improve the movements of joints.
You should never delay in these matters.

Hi jaykarthi, if u do regular exercise it will help. Yoga also helps, so do try them. But first do the easy1.

    hello

    try taking ragi porridge
    for about a week
    before onset of menstruation
or take it daily for about a month

    lie down on floor
    or mat
lift one leg to a about 30 deg
    count to about ten
    bring down
    repeat with other leg

    next try the thoppukarnam
(here you should take it slow
if you are not used to exercise
also you must start as one per day
then go for more.. for overweight
or people with other chronic problems
    should consult proper person before
    starting exercises or yoga)
    yoga will surely help.

    thoppukarnam should be done
one per day then increase slowly
    to nine or ten
everyday first thing in the morning

    discontinue exercise, thoppukarnam during periods

    a hot and cold formentation
when the pain starts will also help

let me know if it helps

    sathya
