Life is a continuous challenge and an unending struggle. We are not made rich by what is in ourpocket but by what is in our heart

    Quotes tagged as "money"
    “Seven Deadly Sins

    Wealth without work
    Pleasure without conscience
    Science without humanity
    Knowledge without character
    Politics without principle
    Commerce without morality
    Worship without sacrifice.”
    ― Mahatma Gandhi

In younger days its better to be without money but at old age as in young age we have the strength to overcome anything, we have a strong heart and a heart to struggle. But in old age our strength becomes less, for some their loved ones are not near so they feel depressed, without money it becomes more difficult to live if noone is there to help. So young age we should save money and that will be helpful during old age after retirement. Health troubles start only after sixty and without money we cant take care of ourselves that time. But then money is not everything, we can buy things but not the love of everyone. In old age we need money and also the love of our loved ones.

Money will buy a bed but not sleep; books but not brains; food but not appetite; finery but not beauty; a house but not a home; medicine but not health; luxuries but not culture; amusements but not happiness; religion but not salvation; a passport to everywhere but heaven.

NOT all fingers are of same LENGTH,
but when they are BENT, all stand in EQUAL length.
Similarly, LIFE becomes easier & stronger
when we BEND & ADJUST to certain situations.

In old age we require everyone's help when health troubles us and those times we have to adjust with everyone. There are some old people who dont want to adjust , they always want their way and youngsters want their way. Youngsters are not so experienced and I feel it is the old people who should adjust if they want to live peacefully. I know many will not agree but in present days to lead a healthy life it is necessary. I know a relative of mine who is a widow but since she does not adjust with anyone she is struggling. Her relatives are ready to look after her but she does not want to adjust.

Many of us associate money to happiness. To a certain extent money may be important, in order to fulfill basic needs and responsibilities towards the well being of self, family, community and loved ones. But beyond a point money cannot replace relationships. It cannot buy happiness. It cannot make you truly rich.

As they rightly say ” A truly rich man is the one whose children run into his arms when his arms are empty”. Just count the things you have that money can’t buy. Unknown

Very nice quotes Vijima. Truly, money is important in its own place. We need it for living. But it cannot buy us that which truly makes life worth living - love and happiness.

    Dear Viji,

How true it is , I thought when I read the title.Counting all our blessings will instantly make us feel rich, isn't it?

I do not know whether you remember this AD of master card. It has created a long lasting impression on me and I totally agree with it. the tagline of their advertising campaign is 'priceless' and the slogan goes ' there are some things that money cannot buy...for everything else there is master card." Very classy ad.:)

It is said that when Alexander the Great lay dying, he made three strange wishes. Faced with the prospect of never seeing his mother and his homeland again, this great warrior, this legendary conqueror of many lands, made three odd wishes. He gathered all his generals and told them his dying wishes.

The first was that only his physicians would carry his coffin. The second was that the path in which his coffin would pass should be strewn with gold, silver, and other precious items that he had collected in his conquests. And the third wish was that both his hands should be dangling outside the coffin.

Probably the generals would have thought these strange commands because they were at the very least, peculiar indeed. But this was their leader and they had no choice but to comply. But one particular general could not help himself and so he approached his dying leader and asked the reasons for the wishes.

The great Alexander then said: "The reasons I made those wishes is to show the world the lessons I have learned. I have asked my physicians to carry me to my grave because there is no doctor who can truly heal me. They are powerless in the shadow of death. Life should not be taken for granted.

"As for my second wish, I would like to tell the world that even though I have spent my entire lifetime accumulating the riches of this world, I cannot take them with me. It is a waste of time chasing wealth. And as for the third wish, I hope that people will understand that I came into this world empty handed and empty handed will I leave it also.

Soon after that Alexander died. And it said that all his wishes were granted.
