The Treasure Hunt of "I" in "L" (Life) !! :)

SECRETS OF SUCCESS

“Dear Ramya, you speak about “staying young mantras” and now taking your hand at something which can never have secrets”? Harhar Oh, again I hear familiar voices in my family who anxiously look at me, reflecting the varied questions that run in their mind, faster than that of the flow of the protein that carries oxygen for survival. My dear cute ladies (and smart gentlemen of course), here again I am going to reveal a few secrets those that can never be addressed as “secrets” !!! Confusing ??

Can you define the term “success” for me? Well I shall do that! Success is a relative phenomenon where when one finds an oasis as his treasure amidst a dry and arid desert, the other stumbles upon a huge lake or backwaters amidst the natural serene!! Success in itself is a “hidden treasure” in life. Once the “whats” and “hows” are cleared, we shall attain what ought to be attained!

Success is what we define to ourselves. It might be a day’s target, a monthly plan to accomplish, the track of daily budget, a habit to acquire, a morning walk, a mannerism to adapt, a piggy bank saving, a sketch to paint, a beat to choreograph, an aalap to master, a mimicry to mimic, an “8” for a license, a complete read of a novel, a program to debug, a code to decipher, a smile to wash away all tough times, a genuine interest, a flight through the dreams, a brush up of emotions, a poem composed, an article put forth, an appreciation gained, a reward well treasured, a relationship canalized, :idea a treasure hunt, an assurance to bounce back, a gossip-less talk, a vigilant day of fast, an ardent devotion, so on and so forth the list goes never ending. When co many categories can be grouped under a single term, wont it have any secrets of its own?? These secrets are open enough that they have a foundation that is crystal clear and strong, but the construction built based on the basics lies in the hands of the architect. Now agree with me that secrets dominate by their presence in Success?

Oh, common, lets now discuss about the secrets rather than beating around the bush! An opportunity once lost, is lost forever unless and until luck disturbs and alters the way of her predecessor. Each and every one of us is familiar with the Newton’s three laws of motion. Each one is unique and finds its application in separate realms of this cosmos. Have we ever wondered the three laws of Success? (don't tell me they are Ramya's Laws Big Laugh) Oh, did we ever know that there existed such laws? Here it goes. The first one is: “Go on”; the second is “Go on” and the third one is “Go on”!! Yes, the vibrant law of success is a single variable raised to the power three!! Shall we consider the postage stamp as an example here? Any guesses as to why a stamp and not anything else? The stamp secures success through its ability to stick to one thing till it gets there.

When Jackie Chan, the famous martial arts master was asked “what makes him accomplish success compared to others?” He said, “I practice the same step thousand times, when my opponent practices a thousand steps just once”. Yes, there his perfection and dedication speaks. Can you make a wild guess as to why Tiger Woods remain to be #1 in Golf? Simply because “he could innovate himself” in each and every move.

Below are the few already read and slightly twisted (for better understanding to my own self) lines that aptly go hand in hand when one needs to accomplish the S-Vitamin.
• Nothing is achieved before it is thoroughly attempted.:clap
• Genius is one percent inspiration and 99% perspiration, how can I forget this much adored adage of my father.:bowdown
• The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it. Skillful pilots gain their reputation from storms and tempests.
• A single conversation across the table with a wise man is worth a month’s study of books.
• Study as if you were to live for ever. Live as if you were to die tomorrow.
• To succeed in the world one should appear to be a fool, but be wise.
• Do not show your weakness to your opponents (as I feel the word “enemies” never suit anyone in Life), nor seek relief by communicating your difficulties to your friends if they are not aware of them already.
• First win the heart, and then appeal to reason. Love might hope where reason would despair. The wind could not take the coat from the traveler in the fable, but the Sun did.
• There is nothing lost by avoiding anger. On the contrary, it will be seen that what is sought to be attained comes quicker if anger is avoided. (My favorite “patient” one-liner)

Now do you agree with me that these are nothing but the secrets well hidden in the treasures of Life ??

My success at this moment would be to see whether I have takers for this blog

:cheers

Thank you for your very patient gesture !!

Regards with Love

Dear Ramya,

"I" in "L".... Interest in Life?????????????......

What is success.... Success is a subjective concept.... It varies from person to person and situation to situation.... When my son was in KG & 1 std... Wearing the shoe lace is a big task... Once he succeeded in that, it was a great success for him... For my daughter, she just said ok... when he happily said that he has succeeded... So where are we...

Whenever I read your write ups and the FBs... I always used to think...Wow!!!... What a great one... But most of the time I dont understand... To put it in my layman's language... Edho, these people are talking some highfunda concepts, and it is above our head... That is what I used to feel... Can I request you make it in simpler language, so that poor peasents like me can also understand....

Now, this is my favourite topic, which i teach my kids... Because, both of them are very sensitive and cannot accept losing... so...

My concepts are:

1. Enjoy what you are doing... whatever... If you are eating, enjoy eating, watching movie, enjoy doing that... You should enjoy... Then you will have your full involvement... If you dont enjoy, then you will not be participating in full...

2. Do your best... Put your 100% effort... Tomorrow, you should not feel that could I have tried better...

3. The better person wins... If you win, you have done well, if you lose, there is lot of scope for improvements... Dont look at why/how the other person won???... Look at how you can improve yourself...

4. I always say practice makes perfection... I dont know that JC follows my principle to....hahahahahaBig LaughBig LaughBig Laugh....

Last but not the least.... You are not there to prove somebody a point... You are participating to enjoy yourself and put your best... Dont worry about what others think of you, you do your best and you should feel proud of yourself...

These are my small concepts which I teach my kids... and I follow...

I dont know, whether I am in agreement with you or not, So I leave the judgement to you itself...

Dear most ramya,
Wonderful write up about success. My loud applause for that.!!!!!!!!!!
Well,You have given various instances in life that can be viewed as success depending upon each and every individual. As per your words various categories, accomplishments, achievements can be moved to a single term “Success”.So the term success varies from each and every person just as our perception varies.I personally feel and realize the meaning of this statement in each and every moment in my life.Definitely all the lists(of success) which you have stated has its own secrets which led to the birth of a million dollar question “What is the secret of success?” and there are millions of writings, books on that.(I like to invite you to my thread “The concept of success as a circle”under Articles and middles forum). Can I say those secrets can be known by practice and experience?(Am I going in the right direction ramya?)

Practise and experience learns us to accept failures which are coined as the stepping stones for success.
I would also like to recollect words from the book by shiv kera’s “How to win”.He emphasizes that success comes to a person who is badly in need of it.

The discussion also remind me of the old (but gold) saying “Never think that we have failed(fallen down)ten times but feel proud to have climbed nine times.”

A good topic to rejuvenate our mind.

Your success at this moment is visible for me.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love and regards

Ramya,
Well written...

success depends on each one's ability and their goals...
But to take success and failure in the same way, is difficult to practice..
but in due course, of course, it is called 'the experience' will make us understand and it should otherwise, only moaning and no success later on..

learn from your mistakes-- and be successful next time.

You have succeeded in having takers for this blog...

Dear most Veda anna,

The shoe lace incident, I guess everyone will (/ would have) experience (/d) and encounter (/ed) the same. I had the same incident in mind while I was phrasing my blog. Then thought I should not over bug my readers here. Am happy that you brought in an interesting and treasure worthy one !!

Thank you very much for that bit of praise :)

bonkbonk:eek:mg:DrowningDrowning Guess only now I have lost my Hunt !!! :(:( "Highfunda concepts ???????" "poor peasants ??????" "simpler language????" Never thought anna. Am sorry !

I totally agree !! I always do what ever I wanted to do or what ever I should do. When we do something to our heart's content, then why worry about other's comments ? Doing something to the best of our knowledge is the difficult most task according to me.

Again bonkbonk !! Am speechless anna, truly speaking. Ummm... guess I will have to do some kind of introspection on those lines.

Thanks once again for the feedback

My Dear Ramya,

This is a thought provoking one you have given.....

Success to me, is to always be respected by my family,to do everything to earn that respect.

otherwise success in itself has no importance for me,expect to do my best, whatever comes my way...

I do have a countless new year resolutions which forget to keep by
the time I reach Jan 2, in that way I am very unsuccessful ......

Dear most Bhargavi ma'am,

First of all my hearty thanks for you have dropped an admirable and adorable feedback. It really rejuvenated me.

Just now, I read your article in the other forum and had left my few words. Hope conveyed what I wanted to. Am happy that this topic had created a bond between both of us. Hats off !!

Anything can be made a habit if we convince our senses that it is a must for our betterment. Your formula of success is also on the same lines.

The quote of Shiv Kera's works are apt here. And i must admit the fact that many management books have flooded the markets. Do we take them really to heart and our senses and apply whats printed ?? Do we try at least for a second to implement those practices that are said ?? Is what I always ask myself before I approach a library or any book stall I visit. I call it "culturing our mind" !! :)

Thank you once again. Am very happy. Let the bong strengthen further.

Love

Dear most Meera ma'am,

Thank you very much for the kind feedback.

Absolutely true. Earning a name in our family is in itself a tough job and when we excel we would find the world by our side. Its always a pleasure to satisfy our parents first.

Each one's opinions vary and the definitions need not be applicable globally at times.

The New year resolutions come and go as the new year blooms. Shall I tell you what I do. I never had taken a new year resolution. You might say, what a silly feedback Ramya ??RantOn no Meera ma'am. Every day is a new day and I feel the fresh aroma of a New Year on every New day. I ask myself is anything that am not following or adhering to, should I do something to improve my current status? and if I get the answer "yes", the I take a challenge to do the same and set a time limit. Shall i tell a truth. Most of the times, I have ended up in NOT completing the self-assigned task. But never do I fail to set targets. It really improves our self-confidence and the encouragement comes from within in the pure most way.

Thank you once again :)

Love
RamyaVaradharajan
